Unnecessary edits
editHi Ivannilych, welcome to Wikipedia! Your contributions are welcome, but please do not unnecessarily change text without good reason. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 19:43, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
- I came across your edit on Ultrakill. In your edit summary, you wrote "Slimmed down the bloated plot section and made it easier to understand for someone who has no experience with the game. Also removed a lot of gratuitous name-dropping of mechanics and plot elements that weren’t explained or nessecary", which I found odd, because you added material. That is fine of course, but you added a link to 2112 (year), which redirects to 3rd millennium#22nd century and says nothing about the year 2112. A link to the concept of robot is unnecessary, it's a common word. What's more incorrect to mention, is "An exception to this rule is the interludes between each act, which take the form of illustrated dialogues similar to the post-episode text used to convey narrative in classic first-person shooters such as Doom or Quake". The reader would have been familiar with those two video games.
- The edit you made on Colombian identity card and the one on Telluride Ski Resort do not actually change the tone or style for the better, making it look like what is called in Wikipedia terms of gaming the system: making unnecessary edits to get more permissions. That's why I started a new discussion. This however is a good edit, changing tone and style. Hope this helps. Thanks, and happy editing! soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 08:49, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
- ok thanks. I guess the ultrakill edit might have gotten a bit overzealous but overall I was just trying to compress the information that was there into what seemed like a shorter paragraph while also adding some useful background information (which could have been unnessecary). The smaller edits were made to articles that were marked as needing translation fixes and so I thought it would be useful to fix what I saw as stilted or strange sentences. I am not attempting to get privileges or whatever but it’s good to know that it might be perceived as such. Thank you for the advice . Ivannilych (talk) 14:47, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Ferret. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Surviv.io, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- ferret (talk) 17:14, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
