Nice Messi Photo edit

I bet you someone is going to nominate you for a ban. I don't agree with it, but I know it's going to happen. I'm placing my bet and prediction in advance. Fephisto (talk) 16:42, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Fephisto: What's wrong with using that photo? Am I breaking a rule? If I'm doing it please tell me and I'll remove it. ItsMario97 (talk) 23:16, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
No issue with me, I'm just a fan of Messi too. Fephisto (talk) 16:56, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Fephisto: OK, but why do you think they're going to ban me? ItsMario97 (talk) 22:38, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh, because of the Javier Milei edits. I've seen quite a few people get banned for editing that article. Fephisto (talk) 13:02, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Hi Mario. Thanks for reverting this IP editor on Un Verano Sin Ti. They've been unable to accept MOS:THEBAND for months and have waited for multiple pages to be unprotected just so they can restore a capital T and have another edit summary rant about somebody being racist for not capitalising it. They're definitely obsessed so anybody else stepping in is great. Ss112 10:27, 23 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Why have you undone my edit? edit

I saw you undid my edit of Sony Music. You changed the Infobox title from "Sony Music Holdings Inc" to "Sony Music Entertainment". Do you not know the Infobox title for record labels is supposed to be their legal name, did you not know Sony Music Holdings Inc is Sony Music's legal name so you undid my edit due to your lack of knowledge? Which ever the case may be I will be changing it back. 2603:6000:F200:2A81:A4FE:C400:5033:C27A (talk) 00:04, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

@2603:6000:F200:2A81:A4FE:C400:5033:C27A: Hello, I think you are not well informed, the legal name is Sony Music Entertainment. See https://icis.corp.delaware.gov/eCorp/EntitySearch/NameSearch.aspx ItsMario97 (talk) 00:07, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you look closely, that is also the company where the vast majority of registered trademarks are. ItsMario97 (talk) 00:11, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
No, because as seen in old versions of Sony Music it shows the legal name as Sony Music Entertainment Inc. and Sony Music Holdings Inc.'s old name is Sony Music Entertainment Inc. [1]https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_il/CORP_56017119. I will be changing it back to Sony Music Holdings Inc. and it will not be changed for as long as I am on Wikipedia I hope. 2603:6000:F200:2A81:A4FE:C400:5033:C27A (talk) 01:13, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
@2603:6000:F200:2A81:A4FE:C400:5033:C27A: First, your sentence "and it will not be changed for as long as I am on Wikipedia I hope" It's not the right way to discuss things.
Well, if you want to talk about OpenCorporates, we talk about OpenCorporates, this is the real company, look at all the trademarks out there, and Sony always names "Sony Music Entertainment". Regards. https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_de/3824209 ItsMario97 (talk) 01:17, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
To continue my last reply Sony Music Holdings Inc. is their legal name since Sony Music Entertainment Inc. is their former name and Sony Music Entertainment Inc. used to be all over Sony's cassettes and CDs before Sony BMG. 2603:6000:F200:2A81:A4FE:C400:5033:C27A (talk) 01:18, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Please read all my messages and do not impose your decision. I don't want to get into an editing conflict. ItsMario97 (talk) 01:20, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Just asking, so your saying Sony Music Holdings Inc. is a knockoff company? Cause if not then why would both Sony Music Entertainment (with no LLC, Inc, Corp, Ltd, etc, which is odd) and Sony Music Holdings Inc. exist? 2603:6000:F200:2A81:A4FE:C400:5033:C27A (talk) 01:21, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
You're saying things I didn't say. ItsMario97 (talk) 01:22, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Just asking you a question, why do both Sony Music Holdings Inc. and Sony Music Entertainment coexist? 2603:6000:F200:2A81:A4FE:C400:5033:C27A (talk) 01:23, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
That a company does not say "Inc.", "LLC" or similar things is not strange, I invite you to review each of Sony's publications and there you see that it says "Sony Music Entertainment", apart from the company that I spent the link you can see all the trademarks there which means it is the main company.
Look at OpenCorporates and there are thousands of companies owned by Sony with the word "Sony Music". ItsMario97 (talk) 01:26, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Look at the previous names of this [2]https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_ny/1218162 and then look at any Sony Music release from before the year 2003 by a U.S. artist. 2603:6000:F200:2A81:A4FE:C400:5033:C27A (talk) 01:28, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you dont have any Sony Music releases from before 2003 use this image as a reference (Look at the P-line or C-Line) 2603:6000:F200:2A81:A4FE:C400:5033:C27A (talk) 01:31, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
You are linking to a branch, not even the main one.
You are already in an editing conflict, please stop.
The article should talk about the CURRENT MAIN company, which is mentioned on the Sony sites and is "Sony Music Entertainment".
What happened happened.

Speedy deletion contested: Copa Vacía edit

Hello ItsMario97. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Copa Vacía, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A9 can only be used if the artist of the music in question doesn't have their own page. Thank you. BangJan1999 23:42, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Disruptive IP editor edit

Mario, you shouldn't have to deal with comments like the above. Next time it happens, report them to an administrator. That's a blatantly xenophobic personal attack. Also, you should have requested page protection of Un Verano Sin Ti and any other pages they're being disruptive on, rather than reverting for the past month. I've requested page protection. Ss112 05:42, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. ItsMario97 (talk) 05:44, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also, you might want to have your edit notice page (User talk:ItsMario97/Editnotice) deleted, using Template:Db-g7. By having created your edit notice as a redirect to your talk page, it's showing the content of everybody's messages as an edit notice to anybody who edits your talk page before the actual editing window is shown. Ss112 05:47, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Initially I got this issue temporarily dealt with by getting two of the involved IP address ranges (2607:FB91:1200:0:0:0:0:0/40 and 2603:8081:A200:1D94:0:0:0:0/64) blocked from editing for a few days, it's a damn shame the page has to be semi-protected locking out innocent anonymous and new editors for a year because this person wanted to blatantly and repeatedly break Manual of Style guidelines and edit war against it instead of getting consensus for it. I would've asked for a very long partial block of the IP ranges involved from the affected articles. Oh well. — AP 499D25 (talk) 03:07, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

The Band edit warring edit

Hi ItsMario97!

I've started a discussion about "the Marias" capitalisation dispute over at Talk:The Marías § Capitalisation of 'the Marias'.

Maybe you're aware of this, but Wikipedia has a policy against edit warring, which states that editors must not revert each other's edits, even if the edits are justifiable / are "right" according to some guideline. There are some exceptions to the edit warring policy like obvious vandalism, WP:BLP violations and blatant spam, but editing in favour of the MOS:THEBAND guideline does not fit in any of those exceptions.

While the other party definitely needs to be aware of the edit warring policy, let alone the Manual of Style guideline, you can also be at fault too if you keep edit warring without opening a discussion or finding some remedy to the dispute (such as a dispute resolution option), please keep that in mind. I've seen numerous edit wars in the past where both editors in the dispute got blocked from editing because of this, even though the other editor seemed to be more legitimate and knowledgeable in the matter. So I'd like you to join the talk page discussion linked above, and avoid frequently reverting the IP editor's edits. If they fail to discuss but keep reverting, then that's when actions shall be taken against them, again. — AP 499D25 (talk) 11:33, 9 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
