Disambiguation link notification for March 8 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pla ra, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Thai and Lao (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 16:41, 8 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lao sausage edit

I reverted your blanking of the page Lao sausage because you didn't provide an explanation in your edit summary. If you were trying to delete the redirect, the proper way to do that is to start an WP:RfD discussion. If you need help doing that, you can ping me or try asking at the teahouse. signed, Rosguill talk 19:04, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rosguill,

I deleted the redirect for "Lao sausage" and "Sai Oua" to Nem nướng because it is not correct nor it is the same thing. I don't know who redirected the original page to Nem nướng in the first place, and I was in the process of rewriting the article for Lao sausage or sai oua before you reverted it.

I am still learning how to do things on Wikipedia, so let me know how to proceed correctly

Thank you,

Isan1985 (talk) 20:12, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, we generally don't delete things without a discussion on Wikipedia. Setting up an RfD for the first time can be daunting, it's a lot easier with WP:TWINKLE installed. I'll go ahead and start the discussion and ping you when it's ready. signed, Rosguill talk 20:28, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rosguill,

Thank you. And do you have any idea as to who redirected the page/links, in the first place, or what their justification for it was?

Isan1985 (talk) 20:32, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Isan1985, you can check yourself by clicking on the "view history" tab next to the edit button on top of the article. It looks like we originally had an article about Lao sausage, with Sai Oua redirecting to it, and that an editor then converted Lao sausage to a redirect due to a lack of citations. My guess is that probably the best path to move forward is to restore the original Lao sausage article (this revision) and then either add additional sources or nominate it for deletion. signed, Rosguill talk 20:36, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I agree with restoring the original Lao sausage version. I am currently writing a more detailed article with proper citations about the subject now.

Thanks again for your patience and thorough explanation of the process.

Isan1985 (talk) 21:02, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Actually, what would you think about just retargeting the two redirects so that they point at Lao cuisine? This doesn't preclude creating an article later on, but it's maybe preferable to recreating an undersourced article before you're ready to work on it. signed, Rosguill talk 21:07, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Khao leng feun moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Khao leng feun, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
