Name Change edit

People on Wikipedia are idiots!! Aly and AJ's name change is Official. As you said, they have a verified account. It's stupid to say their twitter announcement wasn't reliable. Plus, the band in their new movie is called 78violet and it was rumored this change was coming. There are also a lot of news sites reporting it now. Why is wikipedia being stupid and acting behind the times? aly and aj's page needs to be redirected. --12.229.144.16 (Talk) 19:59, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

78violet vs 78 Violet edit

I have reverted your "move" because isn't the way that pages get moved here; it loses all the page history. It's not a big problem but please don't do it again. The 78violet page has moved back and forth between the two versions several times: it is time to discuss which is the correct version on the talkpage of the article and not make unilateral decisions. Please go there and put forward your opinions and see if you can get consensus. Once that has been achieved we can move it officially. I will set up the discussion there. Thanks. --Slp1 (talk) 18:52, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

In the source that I added for the name change, Aly & AJ themselves said how it should be spelt.--Irish Sylar (talk) 18:55, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Can you go to the talkpage and spell it out (haha) for all to see? Thanks.--Slp1 (talk) 18:58, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have, I checked the page, my source has been removed for others... --Irish Sylar (talk) 19:02, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it's over. For future reference, it's much better to discuss these sorts of things first on the talkpage of the article and list your sources there. That way others can look at the reasoning and silliness can be avoided. But the main reason that I reverted your change was that you mustn't move pages in that kind of cut and paste way. Click the link to find out how to move pages in future. Thanks for your contributions. --Slp1 (talk) 19:21, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
