Aeroflot terminated destinations edit

Hi Lawrence, terminated destinations list is not even part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Airline destination lists, however since its been created it should remain but in a manner that does not use too much space nor give unecessary details or compete/clash with the main airline destination article.

The current listing for Aeroflot terminated destinations is doing all of the above, what harm if its format is simplified and yet serves the purpose? the main aim is to just have previous destinations in there and not make it a formal "pomp and show" thing like the main destinations article, with countries and airports information.(inspector 16:44, 24 September 2007 (UTC))

Just so I'm sure, are you talking about this?Lawrence Cohen 17:17, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, thats the list, hope you will restore it and allow it to remain, I mean the changes I had made earlier. (inspector 17:23, 24 September 2007 (UTC))

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Th tajikairnewtitle.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Th tajikairnewtitle.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 22:46, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. April 2008 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of Euro cargo air. This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming an article is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. I have redirected Euro cargo air to Euro Cargo Air. ukexpat (talk) 19:20, 10 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Okay, Inspector123, i am wrong in the past, it is agree in Wikipedia:WikiProject_Aviation/Style_guide#Airlines_2 that a standalone article can be created, so you just need to move inside there and fix the format to prefer one. --Aleenf1 08:48, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Air India Express Flight 812 edit

Re your recent change to the table, I've raised this issue at the article's talk page. I've not reverted your edit, and in return I ask that you don't change the Afriqiyah accident article which I mentioned in my comments. Mjroots (talk) 11:40, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

As I said, I've raised the issue at talk:Air India Express Flight 812. If you can point me to policy that backs up what you say, please do so and I'll change the Afriqiyah accident article myself.
BTW, your signature on my talk page did not contain a link to either your user page or your talk page. A signature must link to one or the other at minimum. See WP:SIGLINK for details. Please amend your signature so that it conforms with the policy. Mjroots (talk) 11:52, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
How have you sent me message then? I dont know how to amend signature, I have been posting since over a year with this and none has had an issue until now.inspector 11:56, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
I got to your talk page via a page that lists changes to articles I'm interested in.
To change your signature, click on the "Preferences" tab from your user page, then untick the box where it says "Sign my name using the provided wikitext", then click "save" and your signature should return to the default one like mine. Mjroots (talk) 12:02, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

July 2010 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Pakistan International Airlines destinations. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. I don't mean this as a nasty warning, but it would help vandal-patrol if you could remember to supply edit summaries - you can even set a flag in your Preferences, to remind you - thanks. November 2010 edit

Please note that each of your recent avatars are at most one revert away from immediate blocks (there is a three-revert rule, in case you're unfamiliar with Wikipedia editing policy). Please refrain from further reverts, because failure to do so will result in an automatic block. Also, note that reverts made from all avatars collectively count towards your totals. Come to think of it, if you add them all up, you have likely surpassed the 3 revert total by some margin. Thanks, Jasepl (talk) 15:31, 2 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Edit Summaries edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Air India destinations. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Trafford09 (talk) 13:53, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please also ensure that you provide valid sourced, where required, when making edits. As you are very well aware, citing valid sources is a basic requirement of the Aviation project and of Wikipedia in general. Failure to provide a valid source often results in edits being reverted. Jasepl (talk) 14:12, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Note that continuing to revert / edit without cause, or without providing appropriate sources / comments will still result in your edits being invalidated. Jasepl (talk) 03:43, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
It seems you are bent on continuing to vandalise (note that edits that do not follow required procedure still amount to vandalism, regardless of whether or not the editor or anyone else believed the information added to be correct). Also, as explained previously, edits made by all your avatars, including from IPs, count towards your total, which you have surpassed by quite some margin. Further vandalism will revert in a block. You have been warned more times, by more editors, than is ordinarily done. Jasepl (talk) 09:12, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Note that I have reverted your most recent edit to Air India destinations. This is because no source was provided as a basis for removing Darwin from the destination list. "Apparently" does not qualify as a valid source. In any event, are technical stops destinations (Tbilisi) or not (Darwin)? jasepl (talk) 08:59, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppetry edit

Please familiarise yourself with Wikipedia's Sockpuppetry Policy, which strongly recommends creating a user name and always using that single user name to edit. It also lays out what constitutes sockpuppetry; all your different avatars and IP and collective behaviour meet and exceed said criteria. Jasepl (talk) 05:50, 5 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unacceptable behaviour (additional notice) edit

Here is a summary of your behaviours that have caused problems with several editors on Wikipedia:

1. Not editing using your registered user ID

You have an existing user ID, which you use sporadically, as and when you feel like it. You also self-admittedly edit using any of several hundred IPs (more than 500 at last count). Your reasons for not using a single ID have ranged from “I don’t want to pretend to be an administrator” to “I forget” to “I’m too lazy to log in”. None of these are acceptable reasons, per Wikipedia policy on user IDs. You have been made aware of all of this, on numerous occasions, yet choose to ignore it.

2. Block evasion

To add to that, your user ID as well as several of your IPs have been blocked on numerous occasions, for a laundry list of infractions, the most common of which include edit warring, violating 3RR, refusing to comply with editing guidelines and using unacceptably abusive language. This amounts to sockpuppetry. Marry the two together and it is clear to see that the reason for your editing practice is to escape accountability and to evade blocks. Note that blocks are directed towards an editor, regardless of the ID/IP the editor may use.

3. Not following editing guidelines

You refuse to follow editing guidelines, as if they don’t apply to you and you’re free to do what you feel like. That is not the case. There is a set of prescribed formats and procedures and they need to be followed by everyone.

4. Using abusive language and personal attacks

This is absolutely not allowed, under any circumstances, no matter how justified your stand or how great your frustration. This includes your history of swearing at others in what I presume is Pakistani (it doesn’t matter what language you use, it is still a gross violation of acceptability and will not be tolerated).

In that light, here’s yet another refresher on what you already know:

A. Edit using one and only one ID

An occasional edit using an anonymous IP is one thing. But with many thousand edits, using several hundred IPs, continuing to edit under an IP (which you have done even today), will be considered block evasion, and the prescribed action will be taken. You have been advised and warned regarding this as recently as a couple of days ago, by more than one editor and administrator.

B. Familiarise yourself with editing guidelines

This includes overall Wikipedia policy, as well as established standards and procedures governing individual projects. If you still don’t know where these are available, ask anyone.

C. Learn to work with others

If you don’t like the way something is done, then bring it up for discussion at the appropriate forum, let other contributors weigh in, get general consensus, and then feel free to go ahead and make the change. You are not free, however, to do what you feel like in the manner of your preference, for no good reason. Wikipedia is not 17th century France and you are not Louis XIV.

D. Provide sources and edit comments where required

As already explained so many times, these are necessary. And no, personal blogs, “because”, “everyone knows” and “eff off” are NOT valid sources.

E. Get yourself a lesson in basic manners.

Again, swearing, abusiveness, personal attacks and so forth are NOT acceptable and will NOT be tolerated.

Note that there is no denying that you are well aware of each of your many infractions, and that you are familiar with editing guidelines and acceptable behavioural norms. Note also that you have been reminded of these more times than anyone can count.

Given all of this, it is my opinion that the community has been more patient with you and provided you with more give than can be expected and is done with most others.

I am unable to see why any disciplinary action shouldn’t be taken against you, looking at your long, colourful chargesheet (for lack of a better word) and your unwavering determination to (abusively) do what you want.

I will continue to add to this as is appropriate. jasepl (talk) 05:36, 7 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Investor123, while Jasepl has a few points here (i.e. you need to make sure that you are logged in all the time), there are many other points in this laundry list that are simply frivolous, in particular given the many infractions and inacceptable behaviour of Jasepl himself. So do not disregard Jasepl's message in complete, even if the intent of the message is rather to intimidate and bully you. For the future, make sure that you are always logged-in and you should also start using the talk page of articles to discuss any controversial changes. The same of course also applies to Jasepl, who should also apologize for his racists attacks. Stepopen (talk) 06:29, 7 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Stepopen, I hope more people can see through this chap and as for his rant against me I give two f's about it, he can go on and on, keep adding to the list I wont even bother reading any messages coming to my username hence forth, as it is I didnt read oe than two lines of whatever it is he has posted.inspector (talk) 13:50, 7 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

A discussion has begun about whether the article Euro Cargo Air, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Euro Cargo Air until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Per aspera ad Astra (talk) 11:19, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please explain yourself edit

In this edit[1], your edit summary said "do not list airlines that dont operate freighter aircraft in this section" yet one of the airlines you removed is Air Hong Kong, which is an all cargo airline with main hub in this airport. Such edit is considered reckless and edit summary is considered to be highly misleading because I found many airlines you removed have cargo operations as stated in each of their company's website. If you continued to engage in this behaviour, you may find yourself blocked indefinitely. OhanaUnitedTalk page 18:44, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Aer Lingus Cargo destinations edit

FYI an article that has undergone a deletion discussion like Aer Lingus Cargo destinations is permanently ineligible for proposed deletion. I had removed the prod tag you placed on the article; however, on a closer look at the situation, I reverted myself in accordance with ignore all rules because those deletion discussions involved this article bundled with 170+ other articles, and the rationale in those discussions had nothing to do with your deletion rationale for this article. I have no prejudice against any other editor contesting deletion on other grounds.

Also when proposing an article for deletion, it is not necessary to add a tag to the talk page; a tag only needs to be added to the top of the article. —KuyaBriBriTalk 16:08, 19 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Eaglexpress edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Eaglexpress requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. noq (talk) 11:36, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eaglexpress until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. noq (talk) 14:44, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

The airline's official website does not list Malmo as bookable destination. The source provided is that Malmo serves as a stop for flights from Baghdad to London. You need to provide a source saying that the airline served it a few years back. 68.119.73.36 (talk) 02:16, 9 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Malmo, Stockholm and Frankfurt as well as some current Middle East routes were listed with schedules in Iraqi Airways UK website and the source provided in wiki article as reference, they have since removed that info, also you can make an effort and google stuff yourself instead of depending on others to do that, isn't that responsible editing? inspector (talk) 16:06, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

September 2013 edit

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International Airport may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
 • Airport|Melbourne]], Singapore, Sydney (only operating return leg, flights originate at Dubai-International

Hello. The source you used in this edit is not working. It is the same you used at Jat Airways destinations. Furthermore, I've reverted this other edit as unsourced.--Jetstreamer Talk 22:18, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Qatar Airways destinations ‎ edit

I have reverted your edit again [2]. You need to provide a source confirming the service, given that the start date provided is in last January and we are now in February. The route map used as a reference does not include the destination.--Jetstreamer Talk 16:12, 5 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your behaviour is just unacceptable. You keep reverting me without even bothering to leave and explanatory edit summary [3]. Have you heard about warring?--Jetstreamer Talk 18:07, 5 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi Inspector123, on the Qatar Airways destinations the reference provided for the Basel flight path doesnt appear to be readily available on the website the reference is pointing to. Could you adivse if the reference should point to another location or if there appears to be an issue with the page at present. It does appear to be unreferenced and you appear to be at risk of entering an edit war over an unreferenced airline destination. Could you advise? Amortias (T)(C) 19:38, 5 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Relying on Inside News edit

Recently you have added on Pakistan International Airlines is going to induct 787-9 and you mentioned that it was from inside news. If not wrong, you chose to be EXTENDED CONFIRMED USER and then add things over here as from inside news. I was glad to see this all. Ever heard of giving reference when adding info on Wikipedia?

BTW that so-called inside news was also revealed to me but didn't added on PIA's page as I couldn't confirm it from any news or Boeings' order page. Abdulrafey97 (talk) 16:33, 5 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Explaination required of Saudi Arabian Airlines recent edit edit

Hi Inspector123 you're having a good day.

According to Wikipedia, Encyclopedic content must be verifiable. Information which is based on rumors or inside News must not be added on Wikipedia. Recently you made some changes in fleet of Saudi Arabian Airlines. I've already added Planespotters.net source. You can't say that this website can't confirm the fleet. And the most important thing is that Saudia's fleet contains all of the aircraft which are supported by Planespotters.net. I don't know how do you define vandalism but my edit doesn't shows vandalism. Therefore it is kindly requested that if any better source, if you think, is available than Planespotters, then do mention it with the Aircraft type in Fleets' section. I've removed 757,747-300,etc from the fleets' section. Abdulrafey97 (talk) 16:47, 19 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rickenbacker International Airport, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hahn (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Former airline destination edit

Please do not add former destinations to lists of current destination. Please create a new list of former destinations where it is appropriate. Thank you. Lard Almighty (talk) 16:11, 26 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
