March 2009 edit

Regarding your comments on Talk:Vishwakarma (caste): Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Abecedare (talk) 06:07, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Indiawale (talk) 18:10, 2 March 2009 (UTC) User Abecedare thank you for the reminder. I would keep this in mind and request you to do the same.Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Prevention of Terrorist Activities Act, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Additionally, the information must be specifically relating to POTA, not general corruption in India. External links should be related to POTA as well. Also comments such as "Indian police and judiciary is one of the most corrupt in the world" must be cited. Barkeep Chat | $ 18:02, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Indiawale (talk) 18:10, 2 March 2009 (UTC) User Barkeep, I had cited sources regarding corruption in India police, did you not check the links I included?Reply

I checked the links and I only found one of them mentioning POTA. That link and the info it contained was moved up in the article. Again, this article is not solely about police corruption. Any mention of corruption should be in direct relation to POTA. Additionally, please review WP:V, WP:MOS, and WP:CITE on proper ways to make citations.Barkeep Chat | $ 18:28, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: Vishwakarma edit

Thanks for refactoring your comment on the article talk page. I'll list the problems I see with the article in the next 24 hours or so. Abecedare (talk) 18:44, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

As requested, I have listed some of the article issues at Talk:Vishwakarma_(caste)#Article_issues. Abecedare (talk) 00:22, 3 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Shubha Raul edit

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to Shubha Raul. Thank you. Abecedare (talk) 18:47, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

User Abecedare I am providing references below: There is a high percentage of people from the medical profession in the RSS. The founder of RSS, Dr. Keshava Baliram Hedgewar was a medical professional. He got his MBBS degree from Kolkata. The Bharat Swayamsewak Mandal was headed by Dr. Laxman V. Paranjape, a doctor. There are many more examples.

  • Regarding Shiv Sena targeting people whom they tag as 'outsiders', please check the references citied in the following article - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiv_Sena
  • Let me know if you want me to call out these references separately in this article.

Indiawale, while your intentions may be fine, I think you are not yet familiar with wikipedia's standards for sources and content. Please read the following policies:
These will help explain why your edits on Shubha Raul were inappropriate, and also why the Vishwakarma (caste) article is in poor state by wikipedia standards. Finally, note that, by wikipedia convention, signatures ("the four tildes"; ~~~~)are added at the end of talk-page messages, and not at the beginning (I have moved your signature in the message above, for illustration). Cheers. 17:16, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Vishwakarma (caste), without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Abecedare (talk) 05:36, 4 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re:Vishwakarma edit

Regarding your comment here:

I understand that you are new to wikipedia and are not yet familiar with all the content and conduct policies (see WP:5P). My listing the article issues when requested, was exactly the right thing to do. However, if you feel my conduct has been disruptive feel free to report it at WP:ANI; although I should inform you that any experienced editor will tell you that it has been perfectly by-the-book. Abecedare (talk) 18:56, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Shubha Raul edit

This tagging was tendentious and disruptive. Your earlier contributions to the article were deleted as unsourced, POV synthesis that violated wikipedia policy on biography of living persons. You have repeatedly violated wikipedia content and conduct policies, and I have avoided reporting you since you are a new inexperienced editor; but if you continue down this path, your editing days on wikipedia will be limited. Please reconsider. Abecedare (talk) 05:46, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Shubha Raul, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive. You had made a highly exgerrated, POV claim that Shubha Raul is a champion of the Marathi language without giving any references. If you continue down this path, your editing days on wikipedia will be limited. Please reconsider. Indiawale (talk) 06:04, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

January 2012 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding or significantly changing content without citing a reliable source, as you did with this edit to Vishwakarma (caste), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Tgeairn (talk) 04:50, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Vishwakarma (caste). Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Jim1138 (talk) 04:53, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Vishwakarma (caste). Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Jim1138 (talk) 04:57, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Vishwakarma (caste) shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block.

If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 05:00, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is your last and only warning. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Vishwakarma (caste). Tgeairn (talk) 05:10, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

Please note that the past existence of text in an article is no argument for its restoration. Your edits might be valid, but they were confronted by several editors, and it was absolutely necessary to initiate a discussion with those editors, on the article talk or they talk pages.
