A few things

Hi Imcdc, Good day. Thank you for your Jason Parillo. There are a few things I need to inform you so you would rework/do it correctly next time.
(1) For a page to be notable, it needs to meet the notability guidelines. Sources need to be provide to support the content claim. Sources required are those that is independent - WP:IS (not associated with the subject which means interview/official website/associated pages/marketing and etc can not be contributed to the notability requirements. Secondly, the sources need to be reliable WP:RS (sources from newspaper and reputable sites which means podcast sites/official website/twitter/social media and etc are not considered reliable sources). We need mix 3-7 independence, reliable sources for the page to meet the notability guidelines.
(2) When provide citation, pls use Template:Citeweb horizontal format. If you just past the website URL in, it would be not able to find them when they (the sites) changes how they stored the info in their system and became a dead link. In another words, info without source can be removed for not source could be found to support the claim. Another way to do add the citation is to use Wikipedia:VisualEditor (VE), all you have to do is enable VE and then just paste the URL on the field and the rest of the necessary info will be automatically fill for you.
(3). Disambiguation - If you see orange highlighted texts in the article, which means there are more than one pages having the subject name. All you have to do is click the text and it will bring you to the disambiguation page. Select the right page and replace the orange highlighted text (example: born -New York on the infobox of Jason Parillo page)
I am a regular mma editor. Let me know if anything I could help if you have any questions. Happy new year and stay safe. Cassiopeia(talk) 22:46, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Imcdc! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. GirthSummit (blether) 10:35, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Again - please don't copy stuff directly from sources, you need to write it in your own words. GirthSummit (blether) 13:06, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Ways to improve PAG (investment firm)

Hello, Imcdc,

Thank you for creating PAG (investment firm).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

A plethora of the sources used in the article and a google search shows sources that read like mere announcements, press releases, and sponsored posts. I do not believe notability for companies, see; (ORG) is met at the moment thus I have indicated that and have also manually marked the page as unreviewed.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Celestina007}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Speedy deletion nomination of Qiming Venture Partners

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Qiming Venture Partners, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Edit request attention needed

Hi, I see that you recently made a few helpful edits to "The Blackstone Group" and that you have also been working on improving articles about private equity companies. Fernand Lopez moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Fernand Lopez, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Help with PGIM

Hi there. I am an employee at PGIM working to improve the company's Wikipedia article. Of course, I can't make any direct edits due to a conflict of interest. I noticed that you are pretty active in this sphere and was hoping you might be willing to take a look at my first edit request. I believe it is formatted in a manner that will make it easy for you to review. Thanks for your time! 12.42.50.52 (talk) 16:42, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

AFD nominations

There are a series of nominations from you in the WP:AFD log about a wide range of topics. I'm curious as to how you found these articles and were prompted to nominate them? Also curious whether you undertook any of the activities described at WP:BEFORE given that some of the nominations referenced the articles' current condition and sources, rather than available sources. And I couldn't find one that had been tagged, or where notability had been discussed on the talk page. Then there's the fact that several of the nominations were launched just minutes apart, suggesting nowhere near enough time for WP:BEFORE (which is a requirement, not a suggestion). Happy to go through and make a case for each one (on that basis alone), but I thought I'd come and have a chat to you here rather than at WP:ANI. Stlwart111 05:11, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi. These articles are ones tagged with Notability concerns that haven't taken any significant action for a long time in general. I have performed a search for them but I guess since I am still quite new to AFD, I have probably missed a few other places for sources regarding more specific ones like WP:PROF and WP:NM. -Imcdc (talk) 05:37, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
Yeh, that's kinda the point. Just because an article hasn't had any attention for a while (even a long while), doesn't mean the subject isn't notable. In fact, people will often create articles about notable things and then leave them for someone else to expand. Missing links, poor writing, bad formatting or a lack of references are not reasons for deletion, because those things are fixable problems. If you have done all relevant checks, searches, and tagging (and a conversation on the talk page is often a good idea too) and you are still convinced the subject doesn't meet any of our inclusion criteria, then absolutely go ahead and nominate it for deletion. Stlwart111 07:50, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from The Carlyle Group into Draft:Kewsong Lee. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 12:41, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Baillie Gifford, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Also at Fidelity International. Please do not change numbers in articles without citing a source for the new number. You must have got the new number from somewhere, please specify where.
