  Thx for your comments on my edits, Preventing shark attacks.  I will go through your suggestions.  Am a new user also.  Need to learn more before I embark on making new page. 
  I perceive you are author of Preventing shark attack.  I expect to be making some elaborations.  I think Preventing...   section would not be hurt by a few more scattered comments about the debate over culling. A new page can come later.  (Expect a mentor might comment on this.)

Fair Use in Australia campaign update

I'm writing you this followup message, as you took the time to vote in support of a Wikipedia banner campaign for the introduction of Fair Use in Australia.

After much planning and coordination with the WMF, Australian Digital Alliance, and Electronic Frontiers Australia, as of Monday the banner-campaign is active on English Wikipedia to a portion of logged-out readers in Australia (technical details). The banners direct people to this page on Meta: FairCopyrightOz. That page, alongside lots of information, further directs people towards the campaign website faircopyright.org.au where Australians are invited to write to their local MP to express support of Fair Use. If you are interested in supporting this campaign, please, send a letter yourself using the template letter provided at that link.

Furthermore, and with the support of the ADA & EFA, we have received fantastic media coverage - with article "Fair Use: Wikipedia targets Australians in bid to change the law" appearing on page 2 of the Sydney Morning Herald and page 10 of the Melbourne Age on Monday's edition. It was for a time the 3rd most read article the Fairfax website, and Fair Use was "trending" on Twitter in Australia. We are running the account @FairCopyrightOz on twitter, and we are tracking other press-mentions on the talkpage on Meta.

Today, day 2, we published a detailed post about the campaign on the Wikimedia Blog, ran an "Ask Me Anything" Q&A session on the Australia page in Reddit, and [by happy coincidence of timing] the article History of fair use proposals in Australia appeared on the en.wp mainpage as a Did You Know. [The creation of that "history of..." article was a specific request arising from in the community consultation in which you voted].

And, most importantly, in a little more than a day nearly 800 letters to MPs have been sent encouraging them to support the Productivity Commission's recommendation to adopt Fair Use in Australia. I urge you - please add your own message.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

• Hi Dianna, can you note that the Shark Culling page was mainly created from copying "the negative" view from from the Shark attack prevention page, plus other related articles. My edits were copying "the supporting" view, to provide balance to the Shark Culling page. Note that the Shark culling page was only recently created and as it duplicates the Shark attack prevention page my personal view is that it is not neccessary.

Also note that I am the creator and major contributor to the Shar attack prevention page, so not sure how that impacts your last point Ilenart626 (talk) 09:23, 20 November 2018 (UTC)

Reverted changes to Ocean Gardian and related Shark articles

Hi llenart626, thank you for your message below. I don't believe any negative information was removed related to Ocean Guardian in these edits or promotional material added. The additions and edits related directly to the company's announcement of an electrical shark barrier, added to the company's page and shark barrier page, and the other edits based on published research related to the technology efficacy which was added to the relative sections in the company and shark attack prevention. All factual supportive data references to additions and edits where provided. The only historical negative information edit I have made was a fictitious refence to people dying wearing Ocean Guardian devices, and to resolve this I added a new section that detailed the factual reference details of shark attacks related to shark shield technology. I do not have a conflict, and the information I'm providing to support readers knowledge is not promoting material, it is factual supported data. I'd argue the other way, that their are parties attempting to discredit their safety technology which a growing body of research clearly supports saves lives. Please review again the edits made in light of the above to reinstate, Thanks.

All your edits appear to be promoting Ocean Guardian related products and deleting information that is negative to Ocean Guardian.
