Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Heading capitalization edit

Hello,

Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings) describes that only the initial word or proper names should be capitalized in a section heading. Thus, it should be "External links" not "External Links". Cheers. olderwiser 03:19, July 31, 2005 (UTC)

Reply posted edit

I've posted a reply to your message on my talk page. I'm posting a note here on yours, because I only just recently learned that wiki-etiquette has shifted and discussions tend to happen in their original talk space. It's getting harder and harder to break into Wikipedia these days, unlike the Wild Wild West of Uncyclopedia. --Robertb-dc 21:04, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Michigan State Highways Project edit

Keep up the good work on adding pages where they are needed. A simple suggestion would be to add infoboxes and categories as you create them. As they are created or later updated with infoboxes, help us keep track by updating the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Michigan_State_Highways/Complist. Pages with the yellow backgrounds need updating, while pages with white are done. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm more than willing to help! :-) Imzadi1979 05:56, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Details are listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject_Michigan_State_Highways. Imzadi1979 05:58, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ohio State Route 60 edit

I've added the "prod" template to the article Ohio State Route 60, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Ohio State Route 60. If you remove the dated prod template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Adding wikilinks to articles... edit

Just a little tip. When writing an article, format a link like M-75. The text before the "|" character (called a pipe) is the name of the article, the text after is the text displayed. Just linking to M-75 takes yo a "disambiguation" page that isn't the highway in the NW LP. That page for just M-75 lists links to three articles.

Also, please remember to include a category at the bottom of a new article. The proper category for the state trunkline articles is where the ### is replaced by the 3-digit number for the article. The category for CDH articles is also replacing the X with letter A-H and the ## with the proper number. Any questions, just ask! :-) Imzadi1979 00:29, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

List of highways edit

When you add highways here, please remember that these lists are dab pages so you need to link directly to the article not a disambiguation page. Vegaswikian 22:50, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • I'll repeat the request again. Don't use redirects in dab articles like List of highways numbered 266. Vegaswikian 00:14, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • Basically on any type of disambiguation page, the links should be directly to the article and not be hidden so that anyone who winds up at the dab page can figure out the correct page to go to. This allows them to correct the link in any article that sends them to the dab page. The only place I think this is covered at is here. Vegaswikian 05:15, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:CAD2 Back (1937).gif edit

Image:CAD2 Back (1937).gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Posting M-61 Historic Western Terminus edit

I observed the Infobox for M-76 showing its historic western terminus with M-22. I would like to see M-61's Infobox show its western most historic terminus with US-131 (now Mackinaw Trail), but, for some reason, even after I tried to do it by comparing it with one you did (maybe the M-76/M-22 one), it won't show up that way in M-61's Infobox. If you think this would be of interest information wise, can you post it in M-61's Infobox, because I don't know what I'm doing wrong (BTW, I drove old 61 from M-115 to Mackinaw Trail this past week). Thank you much, and take care. User:Igo4U

Since M-61 still exists, historic termini aren't appropriate in the box. Historic termini would be mentioned in the History section. M-76 doesn't exist anymore, and in fact when we get around to cleaning up the article, that infobox might change to show only M-76 before replacement by I-75, which might eliminate the historic terminus in Empire. MSHP is slowing upgrading all of the articles to B-Class assessment (or higher) meaning they should all have referenced Route descriptions, History and Major intersections sections, and a Future section, if appropriate. The Infobox should be complete with less than 10 junctions, the counties, the maint= tag and the other attributes filled in as needed. I know, none of this is per se listed as criteria anyplace, but Stratosphere and I are holding the project to high standards. --Imzadi1979 (talk) 18:06, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of List of numbered roads in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario edit

I have nominated List of numbered roads in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of numbered roads in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for July 30 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited John Baird (Michigan politician), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Seaforth. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed deletion of Three Good Friends edit

The article Three Good Friends has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Would love to tag this for speedy, but I can't find an appropriate tag for articles about stories that make no claim to notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Festival of Song Radio Program moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Festival of Song Radio Program, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ~ Matthewrb Talk to me · Changes I've made 00:13, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
