National Register photos edit

Ichabod:

Just wanted to point the National Register of Historic Places listings in Tennessee list, if you haven't seen it. If you plan any photo excursions, you might check to see if there any register listings in the vicinity. It looks like we'll have the courthouse photos completed this year or next. Nebraska courthouses edit

Thanks for the note re. the Nebraska and Kansas courthouses. With reasonable luck, I'll be able to get all of Nebraska's done this year. Kansas is more hit-or-miss: I travel through the state several times a year, but don't cover the entire state, and don't always have good light when I pass through.

Look for more Nebraska counties soon: after several weeks of abominable weather, we've had a couple of clear days, and I've been taking advantage of them. I've focussed chielfly on NRHP sites, but make a point of hitting courthouses as well.

Fair use rationale for File:TheWallflowersRebelSweetheart.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:TheWallflowersRebelSweetheart.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Orphaned non-free media (File:Lindalavin.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Lindalavin.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Image copyright problem with File:Robert hatton statue.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Robert hatton statue.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 23:19, 26 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Question edit

Hey Ichabod, but the heck were you aiming for when you edited the pages here and here? As an experienced editor, you should know better than this. I know I'll probably find more of these when I continue cleaning up the lists, but I would appreciate it if you could explain why you censored "cock" in words that it was the suffix to the word, as I have not even seen this behavior amongst children. Sorry if I seem harsh, but I am bewildered by why you are doing this to begin with. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 00:12, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ah, don't worry about it, the internet is fun like that. I just couldn't figure out why anyone would be purposely doing that, and I didn't even begin to think that there would be an extension that would blank out words like that. I wouldn't bother on the Army Airfield state articles, as I am going through them and can easily clean up the mistakes. Have a great evening, and thank you for making my life easier with that category! Kevin Rutherford (talk) 02:11, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Steele County, Minnesota, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Steele County Courthouse (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Question edit

Hey Ichabod,

I have a question for you about a picture you've uploaded. I want a picture for Francis G. Welch Stadium, the football stadium at Emporia State University. Your picture for the File:Aerial view of Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas 09-04-2013.JPG, if cropped of just Welch Stadium, would be good enough as it zooms in. I tested it out! Anyway, I was wondering if you'd be willing to crop the picture down to just Welch Stadium and upload it as a different file? I don't want to do it because it is your file. Please let me know. The list isn't cool and pretty, but it should save you time: the list. There are some articles without real images (locmaps are not real), and the bonus is that you can see what images are used in other articles, so you can put some better if you have. And there are some articles without any images at all: Crystal Lake, Washington County, Florida, Appling, Georgia, Palmyra, Edwards County, Illinois, Alamo, Tennessee, Dresden, Tennessee, Waynesboro, Tennessee, Boston, Texas. Hope, that helps. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 09:32, 28 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
