Happy Spring!

Hello Husond! Just dropped by to wish you a lovely beginning of Spring! Yesterday was the Persian New Year and I just wanted to give you some sonbol (the flower we put on our celebration table :)...¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 18:06, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The picture on your userpage

Hi,

Just out of interest what building is that in the picture on your userpage? I thought it was Taipai 101 but further investigation proved otherwise. Thanks, --81.78.83.83 22:44, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rick Sanchez

Our edits on WP:RFPP clashed and I'd just semi'd that article. Rolled back my changes. Sorry about that - Alison 03:58, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Husond, regarding this, I would ask you to please reconsider. I have assessed warnings about the problem here, but it stems back to a deeper problem that was brought up to Mediation Cabal revolving around an accident that Sanchez had. It seems as though someone doesn't want to have this information included, and now three different IP addresses have shown up removing this information. AIV would be neccessary if it were the same IP address, the problem is that it is always different. Since it seems to be an unlogged IP that is always doing the blanking, would semi protection not make sense? Thanks for reviewing :) Kntrabssi 04:11, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a ton for reconsidering. I think temporary semi-protection should dissuade anyone from continuing the pattern seen there. All the best :) Kntrabssi 04:30, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dolores Park

Hi. I'm a relatively "n00b" editor, and I, in good faith, removed a page (Dolores Park from semi-protected status after noticing that its edit war, from which protection was requested, ended months ago. Only after I took the "protected" banner off did I look into and become aware of the policy for requesting unprotection. Since you were the one who originally protected the page, I would like you to take a look and make sure the page was indeed ready for unprotection. Thanks. --Dynaflow 11:12, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Giraffe

Hi, I noticed that you sprotected this page again, only a day and a half after it had been unprotected. Is it your belief that this article should be permanently semi-protected, and if so, why? --Xyzzyplugh 13:27, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm puzzled as to why Giraffe would be frequently vandalized, it doesn't seem like a greatly popular or controversial topic. Any ideas? --Xyzzyplugh 13:33, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Requests for protection: Hydroelectricity

I'm a little miffed that you have denied the semi-protection request for this page. It has been vandalized 9 times in the past week and 58 times in the past month! Admin Coaching

Can a current adopter (not a current adoptee) have an admin coach per the adoption criteria?  ~Steptrip 00:32, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

This may be rather abrupt, but considering that there are no policies or requirements that forbid me from doing so, I might as well ask: Would you admin coach me? Improper moves

Please stop moving articles[1] to a name different from that used in all sources inthe artile itself, claiming "correct name" in your edit summary, while providing no evidence whatsoever that this is in any way even a legitimate spelling, let alone the proper choice over the existing, clearly legitimate and supported spelling already existing for the one slot available for the article's name. I use the Anti-Vandal tool, since I get runtime errors every time I use VPRF. Finished 5 more questions; can you review them?  ~Steptrip 02:44, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • I just noticed an ambiguity in question 14: "Can semi protection be used on articles where there are many edit conflicts or when vandalism is quite frequent but not all the time?" I interpreted "edit conflict" in the version control system sense of the term: content getting lost because too many people editing. Steptrip read it in the more colloquial sense to mean a dispute over an edit. I suppose if these questions will be reused in the future, that should be reworded slightly. —dgiestc 22:06, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Dgies: Perhaps "edit conflicts" → "editing disputes"? Husond: I've completed all 20 questions; can you review them?  ~Steptrip 22:23, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Help me out, please?

I need some help here. User:69.254.29.248 has been harrassing me for nearly a month now. We had a disagreement regarding some material in Leandro Barbosa, which regarded in him being blocked due to a 3rr violation. He made many personal attacks against me which I tried my hardest not to bite back against, and he also added the warning templates on my page, which were not applicable. He then went to all of the pages that I listed on my user page and added incorrect tags to those pages (such as semi protection and unreferenced tags to articles which were not semiprotected and had multiple resources). After kindly, then assertively, then sternly asking him to stop, he shows no pension to do so, and his account has been devoted almost entirely to harrassing me. Would you please help me out here? I listed at Wikiquette violations but there has been no response. THanks :). Kntrabssi 02:57, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Template:Israel-InfoBox

Almost a month ago you protected Template:Israel-InfoBox due to an edit war in which I was involved. The other participants in this edit war have been unwilling to reach a compromise and are no longer taking part in the discussion. The protected version reflects their position, which I claim is POV, a claim that is supported by good sources which they have been unable to refute. As there hasn't been any discussion going on for over a week, I wish to change the template, so I would be grateful if the protection could be lifted. Thanks --Doron 20:08, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please don't, as this will simply lead to more edit warring- as Doron clearly indicates his intention to change the template despite the fact that no consensus has been reached. Isarig 22:06, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm happy Isarig spotted my post on your talk page just two hours after I posted it. I just wish he'd reply to my posts in the relevant template talk page which I posted over a week ago.--Doron 22:14, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Declined Doron's right that this article should be unprotected due to the lack of current discussion. However, it seems obvious that a new edit war will restart right after unprotection, so I'm declining for now and I suggest a request for comment as a way to attract more users into this dispute. Maybe a consensus will be reached then. If there are no developments in the next few days, then I shall effectively unprotect it. --Húsönd 04:06, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I contemplated a RFC, but it just seemed like too minor an issue, I mean we're quarreling about Israel's territorial area figure in the infobox (whether it should or should not include the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem). Do you think this warrants a RFC? If so, I'll proceed.--Doron 22:08, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think it does, especially because more users are needed in this discussion (if there's any hope that a consensus is going to be reached even with more users involved).--Húsönd 22:10, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Added Template_talk:Israel-InfoBox#Request_for_Comment:_Israel.27s_area_figure_in_the_infobox.--Doron 23:31, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
We've had comments received for a week or so now, and I think you could say there's consensus. I think changing the infobox as proposed is justified by now, could the protection be lifted? Thanks, --Doron 18:14, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just out of interest...

Which of my former political userboxes did you find disturbing? I've taken them all off my page now, as per other users' requests, but you can find the old ones here. I only ask because you said that the disturbing ones weren't the Queen or Marxism ones. I can understand if it was the death penalty one you found disturbing, and I probably should have thought more carefully before putting that on my page. Btw, thanks for your support and positive comments. :-) Walton Vivat Regina! 09:29, 16 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough. Re Bush, I don't necessarily condone every aspect of his beliefs and behaviour (I'm not keen on his affiliations with the religious right, for instance), but in relation to US politics I tend to lean more towards Republicans than Democrats, and I agree with his tough stance concerning the war on terror, and his firm commitment to fiscal retrenchment and tax cuts. But you're right that my views may well change over time. Once again, thanks for your support! Walton Vivat Regina! 16:47, 16 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Admin Coaching..?

Good evening (GMT time); I'm writing to inquire about any places in your Admin Coaching program? I've had three offers for nomination already, but I believe that I need more experience in the finer points of the Janitor's Trolley, and in my opinion you're the editor to do it!

An overview of my current contributions: Daniel and I have worked at Portal:Scotland, which is currently acing a WP:FPOC; I'm mediating a case for the Mediation Committee concerning Nazism; I've been closing Deletion Debates, particularly at MfD and TfD; and I've been getting in some periods of anti-vandalism (I've had a good few WP:USERNAME violation reports at WP:AIV to date).

I look forward, as ever, to your response!

Kind regards,
Anthony 20:34, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
