Welcome to Wikipedia. edit

Welcome!

Hello, Hughteg, and welcome to Wikipedia! The page you created for Stevan Eldred-Grigg is very good and I have listed it on Wikipedia:New articles (New Zealand). I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I see you are a New Zealander (or at least, appear to be by your edits). There are several NZ related Wikipedia pages.

Adding {{User New Zealand}} to your userpage will list you as a New Zealander.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

C. B. Fry edit

I've put the evidence that Fry was offered the throne of Albania, from the cited work, on the Talk page. I think that it is reasonably convincing. I don't want to leave it there long, as the amount that I've quoted from the book could arguably be seen as a breach of copyright, do I thought that I had better draw your attention to it while it was still there. File source problem with File:Jools.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Jools.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:25, 14 November 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ╟─TreasuryTagRegent─╢ 15:25, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Jools Siviter for deletion edit

A discussion has begun about whether the article Jools Siviter, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jools Siviter until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. ╟─TreasuryTagsundries─╢ 19:20, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay edit

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
