Request reason:

Oh my! Do you not understand?! The context is on Wiktionary but I'll give it here. I want to be unbanned because this is unfair! According to your website you say "anyone can contribute". And then me as a beginner gets banned indefinitely for absolutely no reason! You want me to be essay mode! Alright, whatever. ALTHOUGH THE ANSWER IS THIS IS MY MAIN, THE OTHER ONE ACCOUNT IS ABANDONED. So, back in late December 2023, I was preparing for 2024 since it would be the next era in my life. So I decided to make my first ever account; User:TheguyinterestedinstuffIG, I know, I didn't really have a "online name" back then but whatever. I did some minor edits on Wiktionary, and explored what the community was like there. Sometimes I would just go to Wikipedia just for fun I guess. The full context can be found on Chuck Entz's talk page on Wiktionary. If you read that, then I'll continue on. I would be on Wiktionary doing my own edits, only on the first few days I'd get some 1-day bans. Fast forward to January 2024, this is my current and main account. I was doing my own business until I went to my deletion proposal and saw I was banned! Beginner's on Wiktionary are just 1 day bans! Now what, expecting the worst possible welcome to Wikipedia?! Anyways, this is my main account, I am not using my other 1 account anymore. There's no reason on thinking to ban me. I have not been abusive NOR sockpuppetry stuff. Oh my, do your 40 blah-brains understand! What type of stress I'm in right now, huh?! Anyways, WP:SOCK states "editors are generally expected to use only one account." They say USE, and not OH YOU HAVE 2 ACCOUNTS SO BYE BYE, WHATEVER IDC WHATEVER YOUR REASON IS KID, LOL. They said USE one account, how is this abUSE?! (No pun intended.) The old account is done already! Done!!! Also on WP:SOCK, it states "[...] or mislead other editors, disrupt discussions, distort consensus, avoid sanctions, evade blocks, or otherwise violate community standards and policies." FIRST, does it look like I'm "misleading" editors?! Does it look like I'm "disrupting discussions". Does it look like I'm "evading blocks"?! Does it look like I'm violating rules?! Y'all are accusing me of being the guilty one, like I don't deserve this impact! Also in WP:SOCK, it states "An editor using multiple accounts for valid reasons should, on each account's user page, list all the other accounts with an explanation of their purpose." I already told you the purposes!!! Why don't you even get it!!! I have nothing to do with vandalism! Also stated "Clean start under a new name: A clean start is when a user stops using an old account in order to start afresh with a new account, usually due to past mistakes or to avoid harassment. A clean start is permitted only if there are no active bans, blocks, or sanctions in place against the old account. Do not use your new account to return to topic areas, disputes, editing patterns, or behaviors previously identified as problematic, and you should be careful not to do anything that looks like an attempt to evade scrutiny." OK, get it? My old account had the most weird respect and name! So I made a new fresh account! Clearly states it! Why don't you even understand! No beginner should ever have to buy a new device because they've been falsely banned! We don't want Wikipedia to be more toxic. The admins over at Wiktionary are pretty cool to be honest. I'm just your kinda average person who was just interested in these projects that have gone on over the years! Please clearly read and talk about my opinion and reasons. Please take my advice. Just reflect and don't quickly just directly make an user to type multiple reasons. Thank You. Hopefully we have this sorted out anyways. Please be respectful. :D

Decline reason:

There's not a single volunteer here who is going to spend their time on a WP:WALLOFTEXT like this. See WP:GAB for advice, if you actually want to be unblocked. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 18:39, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

January 2024 edit

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public. You may instead email the Arbitration Committee at arbcom-en wikimedia.org with your username and appeal.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

How am I supposed to be unbanned I'm literally trying to give reasons here. Heyandwhoa (talk) 20:25, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Jpgordon: What do you mean people won't read this??? You can literally read it in under a minute. What am I supposed to do? Heyandwhoa (talk) 20:28, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Deepfriedokra and Maxim: I've read through the appeal at the top of the page, where the editor admits to being TheguyinterestedinstuffIG. I understand that this is a checkuser block, so I don't have access to the full set of information and I'm not qualified to handle the appeal. But I would like to ask: was the determination that the accounts were used abusively based on merely edits made by accounts at English words without vowels? I'm not seeing any other overlap in terms of edits.
On a side note, I'm looking at this diff, and it makes me suspect that there might be some IP edits there. Is this part of the determination? If so, it might be helpful to appellant to indicate that part of this was for edits made while LOUTsocking. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 20:32, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I can't comment about logged out edits in relation to an account. As for your first question, the TheguyinterestedinstuffIG account doesn't look like a brand new user. The edits on the second account don't suggest someone who's been around for only two weeks. A useful unblock appeal would at a minimum list previous accounts and what sort of edits are planned if unblocked. So far, the posts to this talkpage don't suggest good potential for being a productive editor, but of course, the decision to decline unblock appeals isn't up to me here. Maxim (talk) 21:14, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Maxim: The "TheguyinterestedinstuffIG" was my first account and I started on Wiktionary, not here. Second, this account is my now my main! The only previous account is that one! Read the unban reason. Heyandwhoa (talk) 22:27, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Okay, I should be unbanned because I have literally done nothing wrong. First of all, this is my main now. Get it? I am not abusively using 2 accounts, it's just a story on Wikitionary that caused that to happen. Second, Abusive? Huh? Think I'm not serious. Indefinite ban, you think this is nonsense. Why do you "hate" me for no reason. I have not been doing anything really bad. Third, I will be mature, just please, unban me, what reason does multiple accounts being abusive to be being banned to be being respectful? I am basically active on the other website, why a pban? Are you being rude??? Finally, I might be sounding young but I got good skills in stuff. Thank You. There's absolutely no reason.

Decline reason:

There's not enough information here to review your block. Please list all the other accounts you've used and explain why you believe your use of multiple accounts is permitted by WP:SOCK. Yamla (talk) 11:33, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I know you don't want to read too long, so I'll shorten up the story for the gist. First, if you read the reasons below (prev reasons), you know I have my old account. The ban reason states that I've been "abusively" using my accounts. This claim is false, I mostly edit over at Wiktionary, which is a my place. So the account I'm on right now is my MAIN account. The other account (TheguyinterestedinstuffIG) is my old account. Which I do not use ANYMORE. 2nd, on WP:SOCK, it states that a user may only use one account. This is the only account I'm using. Also on there, it says you can start with a new name. My prev/old account was just, not really good. So I'm now on this account. 3rd, I have not been doing anything abusive or vandalism, so I don't get why I am banned. I'm only on Wikipedia when I feel like it. Finally, it seems that admins that unblock people have their own opinion, like not reading through any text, or they just say it's ridiculous. Thank You. I have absolutely no reason to have a lifetime ban. No beginner should have such a ban.

Decline reason:

I hear what you're saying, but you look like a returning user to me. Be that as it may, this has been sitting here unanswered, more than once. So, I'll say appeal to the Arbitration Committee. You may email the Arbitration Committee at arbcom-en@wikimedia.org with your username and appeal. (If you read the block notice, dire consequences would ((and have)) befall any admin who unblocked you without check user permission). Best-- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:00, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Deepfriedokra: Did you not read what I said. I'm literally giving you answers.

I believe youve been treated unfairly here, and that this isnt really appropriate for escalation to Arbcom. I also believe you should be unblocked, but that's not my choice to make. So I would suggest you answer the question up above about whether you've used an IP address in addition to the two accounts you've mentioned (this one and TheguyinterestedinstuffIG), as you will have a better case to make. Hi, this is my fifth time trying to be unbanned since y'know I don't really know how to handle this situation at all. I'd really like you to look at my 4th unblock reason as it's good context on what you're gonna read. So basically I have an older account (read 4th unblock reason) and this account, I've been editing on Wiktionary (I know I'm saying this but yeah) mainly and Wikipedia as a "sometimes hobby". Both accounts were made on the same IP obv and I have nothing to do with abuse or sockpuppet blah blah. Basically I cannot reverse this situation but you can understand: 2 accounts were made on the same IP address and this is my current and I like words too much. And these accounts follow/meet WP:SOCK 'cause I'm not gonna have another alt. Tbh, just see what I'm doing BEFORE banning me, okay. Unblock discussion edit

@Maxim: OK to unblock? @Heyandwhoa: Please reread the WP:GAB section on check user blocks as instructions for checkuser blocks have changed. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 01:18, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Maxim: Are you there? Heyandwhoa (talk) 00:07, 26 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Deepfriedokra, you may unblock if you so wish. For the avoidance of doubt, you may treat this block as an ordinary one (a CU has been adequately consulted). I am reluctant to do so myself, considering the edits on the both accounts, as well as the appeals. My fear is that we would not gain a productive editor. Of course, I may be wrong, so if you feel confident unblocking, I have no objections. Maxim (talk) 15:15, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Red-tailed hawk: How do you feel about unblocking? -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:19, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't see any abuse from the two accounts. One stopped; the other started. I see one article in common with an eleven day gap. User could have done a better job transitioning between the two, but new users don't always know how to do these things. (I didn't.) So, I'm leaning unblock. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:27, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
If there is no logged out editing to evade the block, then I would be OK to unblock. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 04:04, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I would never edit logged out because it would reveal my IP address and that's bad. Heyandwhoa (talk) 21:05, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Deepfriedokra: I'm not a CU, so I can't process this unblock myself, though I do think that taking some action (either declining or accepting the request) would be reasonable at this point. I don't see much of a reason to keep the user waiting, unless I'm missing some private information that would impact that. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 17:14, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
