Your edits to Australian Survivor articles

edit

Hi, I've reverted a number of your edits across multiple articles related to Australian Survivor, in which you have retitled the second season of the program as Australian Celebrity Survivor: Vanuatu. This is not a commonly used title for the program, and in references to the program I could find, the common names are Australian Celebrity Survivor and Celebrity Survivor. If you can provide reliable citations that support your title claim, please add them to the articles and re-add your contributions.

Additionally, the article you created, List of Australian Survivor episodes, does not contain a single reliable reference and is as risk of being deleted. Please add reliable in-line citations to the article to support your claims. Thanks -- Whats new?(talk) 05:48, 5 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please avoid changing "Trump" to "Drumpf"

edit

Hi Helloman124. In one of your recent edits, you changed the word "Trump" to "Drumpf". I assume that this was unintentional and caused by having the Drumpfinator extension enabled. To avoid this kind of mistake in the future, please disable the extension before editing articles that mention Trump. Thank you. —Granger (talk · contribs) 06:09, 5 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you recently removed some content from List of Survivor (Australian TV Series) contestants  with this edit, without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:05, 7 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Celebrity Survivor

edit

Regarding your constant edits of this manner across multiple articles about this subject, Celebrity Survivor is the shortform of Australian Celebrity Survivor, NOT Survivor: Vanuatu. Unless you can find a reliable official citation of the latter's common usage DON'T RE-ADD IT. I've raised this issue with you previously. If you wish to discuss it further or taking dispute resolution measures, please reply here or add a message to my talk page. Thanks -- Whats new?(talk) 06:49, 26 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Date formatting

edit

Hi, just to let you know I've reverted your edit to Australian Survivor (season 1), because you added commas to dates where not acceptable once again. Please see MOS:DATEFORMAT for examples of how to correctly format dates in articles. -- Whats new?(talk) 23:40, 26 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Per your revert, please read MOS:BADDATE. It shows 3 July 2001 is acceptable whereas 3 July, 2001 is NOT acceptable, stating clearly "No comma between month and year". -- Whats new?(talk) 07:39, 28 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

"American Survivor" vs. "American version of Survivor"

edit

Hey! Couldn't fit my response to your edit summary in an edit summary, so here's the full thing: You've referred to the phrase "American Survivor" as "accepted short hand" for "the American edition of Survivor." According to WP:SLANG, "formal tone means that the article should not be written using argot, slang, colloquialisms, doublespeak, legalese, or jargon that is unintelligible to an average reader; it means that the English language should be used in a businesslike manner." If "American Survivor" is "short hand" (or slang) as you say (and I agree), then it would fall under what the quote from WP:SLANG says to avoid including. - Katanin (talk) 20:58, 10 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Australian Survivor 3 Cast.jpeg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Australian Survivor 3 Cast.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. AntiCompositeNumber (Leave a message) 23:22, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ratings table

edit

Hi, in regards to your twice reverting of my removal of the demos from the ratings table at Zumbo's Just Desserts, the reasons I have given you for removing them are the fact they are incomplete, and including the 18-49 demo is not standard in reporting on Austraian ratings (it is in America, but total people is the widely reported metric in Australia). Additionally, not all Australian television networks target the same demographics, which again is unlike American networks who do focus on the 18-49. For example, Network Ten has stated they have moved their focus from 16-39 to the 25-54 demo. Neither of those are the 18-49 range. If you wish to discuss further, please do reply and if necessary we can take formal measures to obtain a concensus. Saying the table exists on other pages is not wholly relevant, and frankly if I were to come across this on other pages I would likely remove them there is circumstances were similar. -- Whats new?(talk) 22:35, 7 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I've reverted your edit for the same reasoning at Australian Survivor (season 3). Please engage in discussion on the article's talk page or here if you continue to disagree or have relevant points to raise. -- Whats new?(talk) 01:54, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Problems with upload of File:Aus Survivor 3 Cast.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Aus Survivor 3 Cast.JPG. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or provided a license tag. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, select the appropriate license tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you can't find a suitable license tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 09:37, 8 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Aus Survivor 1 Cast.JPG

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Aus Survivor 1 Cast.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Whats new?(talk) 22:35, 8 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Final warning

edit

In the following edit: [1], you reinstated material that was clearly denoted to have been removed as advertising and promotion. If you reinstate material, you take responsibility for it. You may neither write nor restore promotional content, as that is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Beyond that, I see several issues with copyright put forth here, and people asking you to explain why it is you're doing what you're doing. When other editors express concerns with your editing, it is required that you engage with them and discuss the matter, or, at very minimum, stop doing it. You may not ignore them and continue to plow ahead. If this behavior continues, or you continue going on ahead while still refusing to discuss, you will be blocked from editing. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Big Brother 15 (U.S.). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.Davey2010Talk 13:27, 16 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:45, 17 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Could you please explain yourself why the contestant and season summary tables should not have the same finishes on them? To me they should be consistent with one another, as the tables are giving contradicting information under your reversions. edit

Your recent editing history at Big Brother 21 (American season) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Big Brother: Over the Top into Big Brother 21 (American season). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:52, 4 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Big Brother 15 (American season), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Blown Away (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Network Ten a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. - JuneGloom07 Talk 00:54, 17 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
You have been warned repeatedly about various types of disruptive editing. Your edit to Jimmy Wales was completely unacceptable. Please abandon this behavior when your block expires. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 07:01, 2 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Big Brother Australia

edit

Stop adding details that are not mentioned in your source (and you're just guessing based on the USA format) and removing valid information for seemingly no reason. These edits will be continually reverted and continuing to do so will lead to you being reported for unconstructive edits - which looking at your talk page you know full well could result in a ban from editing. - Riggleby (talk) 09:21, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Drunk History Australia moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Drunk History Australia, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Big Brother (American TV series) future season placements neutrality

edit

I came to you this instant after I noticed some user had recently vandalized the article for Big Brother 12 (American season) and Big Brother 19 (American season). There is a comment stated that the putting the future BB placements (notably Big Brother 22 (American season)) are deemed vandalism. I have revert the edits. This move was because that sister CBS's shows like TAR and Survivor, which they do not state placements for future seasons (but other shows are allowed however) due to neutrality. I need to do your part to help me monitor those possible edits, and do your part undo the edits if come arise.

I have provided the synopsis for those competitions in return, though, I managed to get it from a blogger website called Bobbymgsk, in case you are wondering.

Hi Helloman124. Just to let you know,   stands for a non-breaking space and helps prevent line wraps from occurring. This allows the times in this edit to appear correctly, as opposed to separate lines. For more information, see preventing word gaps.

Inappropriate flag use

edit

Please don't add flags for no good reason as you did here. Those flags were removed for a reason: see MOS:WORDPRECEDENCE and MOS:FLAGCRUFT. In most reality TV shows, the people are not actually representing their nation in an official capacity. The places they visit are usually not welcoming them as a state visit. So there is no good reason for the flags. Binksternet (talk) 01:31, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

September 2021

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Survivor South Africa. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Binksternet (talk) 13:53, 9 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
