March 2008 edit

Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to List of SpongeBob SquarePants episodes. Most British people and many people internationally write dates in day-month-year order, e.g., 12 December 1904. Most Americans use month-day-year order, e.g., December 12, 1904. If the article is about an American topic, use month-day-year. If it is a British topic, use day-month-year. If neither, leave it as originally written. Many Americans or British people take offence if an article about their country, written in their local version of English, is changed around to a version they don't use. So please do not do that.

Dates are usually enclosed in two square brackets, as in [[12 December]] or [[December 12]]. This means that you can set your preferences (if you look around your screen you'll see the word preferences; click on it and follow the instructions) to ensure that you see all dates in the format you want, whether date-month-year, month-date-year or yyyy-mm-dd. The general rules on how Wikipedia articles are written can be seen in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Rules specific to dates and numbers can be seen in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers).

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on the web's fastest growing encyclopædia (or encyclopedia, if you write it that way!). Thank you. Xenon54 23:23, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry edit

I made an unreasonable edit to Greek and I did not realize that puting a Citations needed template was innapropiate. I hope there are no hard feelings. Yojimbo501 (talk) 23:07, 2 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dates edit

I have noticed that you are using magic words to generate dates in some of your edits. Is there a guideline that suggests doing this? The reason I ask is that using such formatting could cause the page to become incorrect in the future when details change unless an editor changes the information. In other words it gives the pages a false level of apparent accuracy since they seem more current than their actual last edit. —MJBurrage(TC) 21:24, 17 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dates, part 2 edit

Hello. I see that you reverted my change to List of 'Til Death episodes converting the auto-updating date macros in the introduction to a manually entered date. As I mentioned on the talk page, the auto date is not really appropriate in this case. If you disagree with this, please respond on the talk page so we can discuss it. Thanks, Mrwhizzard 04:00, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Year ranges edit

As per WP:YEAR, "Year ranges, like all ranges, are separated by an en dash, not a hyphen or slash: 2005–06 is a two-year range, whereas 2005/06 is a period of twelve months or less such as a sports season or a financial year. A closing CE year (AD year) is normally written with two digits (1881–86) unless it is in a different century from that of the opening year (1881–1986)." --AussieLegend (talk) 04:22, 18 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Year ranges (again) edit

As I indicated in this edit, WP:YEAR says that year ranges are normally written as "2005-06" etc. Please stop changing them as you did here, to List of The Big Bang Theory episodes. --AussieLegend (talk) 06:50, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

We've talked about this before. You persistently violate copyright, and plagiarize the work of other writers. Changing a few words is not sufficient to get around this policy. Please write summaries yourself. --Drmargi (talk) 18:11, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
