JumpTV spamming edit

Response to JumpTV "spamming" edit

First off, I'm not adding commercial links, I'm creating informational pages regarding the channels that are offered by JumpTV, but that exist independent of JumpTV. The fact that some of them have no information as of yet is because the channel information for them has yet to be updated. Furthermore, I am not spamming as I am providing internal links on the channel pages that I am creating, and also providing, as a next step, links to the actual websites of the channels both to the channel pages as external links, and to the main JumpTV for information purposes. It would really be nice if someone would please tell me how exactly it is that I'm spamming, as I'm not getting in anyone's way, and simply providing an opportunity for those interested to access information. Thank you for your comments and your concern, but until you can give me a little more info than "you're spamming", I don't know what you're asking me to do.

I think that phrases such as This channel keeps you entertained ... is the channel for you. You will feel like you are in Ethiopia all over again! read more like an advertisment than an encyclopedia article. On the other hand the information in WBS (Uganda) doesn't have this problem. I see your point there, but that's all you had to say, that the information for it was not formally objective, and then I would change it, but if you're going to edit it, at least make sure that you're edit is grammatically correct. Also, there was no need to remove the "Internal Links" section, you could have simply renamed it and saved me the time of having to readd it. Thanks for the help.

Ragib, I refer you to my above replies, if you would like to discuss this further, I'd appreciate you saying something that is not generic. I respect your intelligence, so I ask that you please respect mine. Thank you.

"Watch JumpTV on channel etc etc". This is spam by any other name. You've been warned about that. You are also creating articles solely for spamming JumpTV. Further spamming will result in blocks. Thanks. --Ragib 01:03, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm creating articles for the channels that JumpTV offers, and creating internal links for them, as you previously advised. How can adding a "See Also" section, that may or may not be accessed by the users of this service, be considered spam? Is there a rule against creating pages that don't exist? Especially ones that may inform people of access to those TV channels? Do you see a single advertisement for service offerings on the JumpTV wiki page? I wonder, who does one report an administrator to for abuse?

So now you're just deleting the channels I created? That's democratic of you... and also very scholarly of you... not to mention mature...
If you have any problems, please refer them to Administrator's Noticeboard. Thank you. --Ragib 01:12, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Please not that this it not an appropriate stub article, and any like this will likely be deleted: [1]. --mtz206 (talk) 01:13, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

spam again! edit

Wikipedia is not a free web host for publishing / copy-pasting the prospectus. I thought that following the Jimbo Wales' email to Mr. Ahmed Gomaa, such spamming would end. Unfortunately, it seems you are still spamming the talk page of JumpTV. Pelase refrain from doing so. --Ragib 08:08, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ragib, you (or possibly Mr. Jimbo Wales) specifically told Mr. Ahmed Gomaa that as an employee of JumpTV, one would be allowed to post information regarding the company on the talk page so that other users from Wikipedia may be inspired to take that information from the talk page and add it to the main page in their own words. I did not post the prospectus, and if you would have cared to check, you would have seen that the prospectus (at the link provided) is over 150 pages long! What I posted was not spam, it was information, and it was not on the main page, which is what you complained about last time, so please, make up your mind about what you feel is allowed and what is not, because you're making it very difficult for me, a new wikipedia user, to understand. Thank you for your help in this matter, and I hope you either reverse the change on the talk page, or give me a more valid reason for yet again abusing my work.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:JumpTV.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:JumpTV.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of TKC TV edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on TKC TV requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of TKC TV edit

The article TKC TV has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
