I have found that using zip ties can be used for many things. Holding devices where hands cannot get to to hold something while allowing my hands to be free to get the job done. One instance was replacing a belt on a compressor and another was after placing a water pump in an outboard motor backwards, to reverse the hard rubber after the teeth were set an placed in the wrong direction, by placing a zip tie around the hard rubber by pulling the rubber back in the opposite direction as I titened the zip tie allowed the rubber to be pulled back into the correct direction to then flip the wheel over and place it into the round cylinder. As the piece was being pushed down into the cylinder the zip tie was being forced off of the hard rubber wheel. Easy peezy!
