Hello. Please stop exaggerating use of Kyiv, and downplay use of Kiev, in English language media. Kiev is still by far more used than Kyiv in media and sources in all natively English-speaking countries, which is what matters when establishing what "common use" in English is (which in turn is what decides what form of the name Wikipedia uses). For what the consensus here on the English language Wikipedia is when it comes to Kiev vs Kyiv please see the endless discussions on Talk:Kiev/naming, including it's archives, a consensus that hasn't changed over the years, and shows no signs of doing so either. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 09:53, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hello Tom. In the recent weeks, many major English and American newspapers have officially reported that they are changing their pronunciation style to Kyiv. If you compare current version of the article with that of the beginning of autumn 2019, you can see in the last sentence of the Name section that number of media sources which use Kiev has declined, with more media preferring Kyiv. This is why the word “many” already doesn’t seem to fit in that sentence, as only one media source, The New York Times, which still uses Kiev, is mentioned there. So I thought that the word “several” would just fit there better. I’d like to kindly ask you to stop accusing me of “exaggerating use of Kyiv", as I never actually changed the pronunciation style in that article or any other articles. Instead, I just wanted to make clear that there has been a recent trend among English-language media of changing the official pronunciation style of Kiev to Kyiv. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks! edit

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it.
