Fate/Stay Night edit

About Rider. I was simply trying to explain the connection between her Noble Phantasm Bellorephon and herself. For example, Saber has the Excalibur which explains she is King Arthur. Most people are confused as to Rider's (aka: Medusa) connection between Bellorephon, the fact that Pegasus is her Noble Phantasm, and Medusa. So I wanted to clarify. I will try to clean it up a bit. Please review it to see if it is less confusing. Mirioki 23:36 April 2 (UTC).

Would you reconsider your nomination of thee Adaptation to global warming article for deletion? edit

I was "bold" and extracted the "adaptation" text from the Mitigation of global warming article into a new article Adaptation of global warming as suggested by others in the Talk:Mitigation of global warming page.

Within minutes, you nominated the new article a candidate for deletion on the grounds that it was a "how-to" article which violated WP:NOT or that it was original research which violated WP:NOR. Other people said that it was not encyclopedic.

The "how-to" criticism was off-the-mark because the article was never intended to be a "how-to". The skimpiness of the text and the section titles suggested that it was a "how-to" but it was never meant to be that.

The "unencyclopedic" charge was valid since the initial text extracted from the Mitigation of global warming article was very sketchy. I have addressed these issues by expanding the article significantly and providing references to sources.

Several of the active contributors to global warming articles have voted to keep the article.

Would you take a look at current version of the Adaptation to global warming article and then consider voting to keep the article?

Thanks.

Lone Wolf edit

  • Please be careful about nominating Lone Wolf related articles for deletion. Unlike some other subjects I have seen on the internet, this subject is verifiable, and as you can see on the Lone Wolf (gamebooks) page, this series has sold over 8 million books. It is for real, and the information is relevant :) Thanks! Judgesurreal777 04:41, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Life Online with Bob Parsons edit

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

Re: Edit Summaries edit

Hello got your message, I think I've found the edit you're talking about (Playstation3 06:49, 19 May 2006 ?) - it is only polite to add an edit summary especially when deleting someone elses work. Don't think I can do much retrospectively about this easily - I'll try to always add a summary in future (except possibly when doing very trivial things eg obvious spelling error). Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow.HappyVR 11:51, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the support edit

Thank you for supporting my m:Medical dictionary wiki. It'll probably go nowhere, since no one wants to be liable for it. Oh well... I guess this'll be one topic not influenced by the wiki. —THIS IS MESSED OCKER (TALK) 21:46, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I see you've responded to the straw poll at Wikipedia_talk:Music_samples. Help From fellow Wikipedians against censorship!

Thank you for your time I was wondering if i could ask your opinion?? :)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/G. Edward Griffin here is the Article on G. Edward Griffin that I have just reconstructed and am still in the process of doing, But it's been put up for deletion?.

I was wondering if you could pitch in a comment in any direction you feel but I believe this man is very notable having Authored such books as The Creature from Jekyll Island a history of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, but also many many more films as well, also being a member of many organisations.

Me being an inclusionist of sorts I would rather see changes made rather than a wholesale deletion, what do you think?

The man is very notable he has been doing this sort of work since the 60’s when he created the “The Capitalist Conspiracy” one of the first and most documented histories of Political Corruption in film that I know of.

Thank you for all your help, I’m just starting out in Wikipedia I have created the Benjamin H. Freedman, article and reconstructed the The Money Masters article and some others but I need help here! Any help of mine you may need or want in any regard in the future just ask :)

Also any contribution you would like to make to improve the article please consider!

Really i wouldn't ask if i did not really think this article worthy.

Beautiful Garbage edit

A rather long while ago you commented on the spelling of the article name "beautifulgarbage". I am just letting you know that I have proposed the article to be moved to "Beautiful Garbage", which is (in my opinion) more in accordance with Wikipedia's policy. Feel free to leave further comments on Talk:beautifulgarbage if you're interested. Thanks! HymylyT@C 20:12, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Geneforge2map.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Geneforge2map.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:40, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Pit-logo.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading Image:Pit-logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 15:04, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:CastleTown.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:CastleTown.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:07, 5 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Geneforge2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Geneforge2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.

Bizarre edit edit

Sorry, but since you're a veteran editor I've gotta ask: what the hell were you thinking when you made this edit? If there is material on an article that violates someone else's copyright, just removed it. If the copyvio is questionable, place {{copypaste}} at the top of the article. But do not add this text to any article again. —bender235 (talk) 22:56, 1 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

It had been a while since I dealt with copyright problems on Wikipedia, and when trying to re-learn the correct procedure I came across {{cclean}} instead of {{copypaste}}. I mistakenly thought that the former was the template to use. It won't happen again! Gyre 03:18, 3 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
