Hello, and thank you for your recent contributions. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edits because I believe the article was better before you made that change. FG 1250 edit

Hi, thanks for the message. I took a quick look at your article. BTW, here is an article on a similar topic just in case you hadn't seen it: FG 42. Don't be intimidated by the length of that article, it's fine to have much smaller articles to start, that kind of article, where yours is now, is called a stub. Also, you had a table that was part of your reference. I've never seen that done, I'm guessing it was a mistake so I just fixed it and edited the article directly. If you don't like that change you can of course revert the article. So far to be honest the article probably stands a good chance of being deleted. Anyone can create an article and it may take some time for someone to look at it but eventually someone will and as of now your article IMO doesn't demonstrate wp:notability One reference in one book isn't enough to establish that something is worth a Wikipedia article. That is why I searched for similar weapons and found the FG 42. Finding that article gives me good reason to think that with work the FG 1250 could also merit it's own article. My recommendation for now would be to delete the existing article from the encyclopedia and to work on it some more in your sandbox first. I checked and I don't think you have a sandbox page yet. If you did it would be here: User:Guywholikeshistory/sandbox notice it's a red link because the page doesn't exist yet, if you create your sandbox that link will turn blue. FYI, here is my sandbox: User:MadScientistX11/sandbox As you can see there it looks like there is an article: Coming of age in samoa "in" my sandbox, what I did was copy the wiki code of that article into my sandbox. That way I can try out various changes to wording, flow, etc. before other people see my changes. I can get it to a point I think is an improvement and then copy the changed bits back to the actual Wikipedia article. There is also a process for new editors to use to create a new article. Sorry, I'm rambling a bit, I have to leave in a second so just jotting down some ideas, here are my specific suggestions for now:

  • Have you done much editing? If not my first suggestion is to do some more editing, there are plenty of existing articles on military history that need work and it's so much easier to make small changes to an existing article than to create a new article from scratch. I would table the MG article for now and get more experience editing first. If you want some suggestions for article on miltiary history I can find some.
  • I would recommend deleting the article as it stands now. BTW, you can save the content in a wp:User page if you want. I can tell you how to do that if you decide to do that.
  • I encourage you to set up your wp:sandbox so you can get more experience working in the sandbox rather than directly editing the encyclopedia.
  • Notice several of the words about are wikilinks. I encourage you to look at those articles for more background.

I have to go now but I'll be back at my computer in a few hours, hope that was useful, I know there is a lot of stuff to digest at first :) --MadScientistX11 (talk) 16:11, 30 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm back now. Let me know if you have questions or want more suggestions. BTW, if you want to stick with the FG 1250 article rather than edit existing articles that is totally fine, anything I say is of course just a suggestion. BTW, you can respond here. I'm watching your page so I'll know that you replied to me. --MadScientistX11 (talk) 21:10, 30 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Jennifer Gossoo edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jennifer Gossoo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
