February 2021 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Mahant Raja Sarveshwar Das, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Peerzada Mohammad Iflaq (talk) 16:56, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Jani Bairagi edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jani Bairagi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Jani Bairagi moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Jani Bairagi, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Abhiram Das Bairagi edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Abhiram Das Bairagi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/ram-mandir-story-of-abhiram-das-bihari-sadhu-ayodhya-1708005-2020-08-05. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Bairagi Abhiram Das. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Abhiram Das Bairagi. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Abhiram Das Bairagi. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:03, 6 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Some of the links you added do not return data including reflist items (as of today) 5, 8, 13, and 14. Would you please fix them? I would recommend checking them and updating the access-date as well. Please use default sized for images or "thumb"? Setting the size can cause trouble with mobile devices, or so I've heard. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 00:09, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

July 2021 edit

Hello Gupta Ynr! Your additions to Bairagi (caste) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- Asartea Talk | Contribs 11:55, 11 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please follow Wikipedia's manual of style edit

When making edits, please follow the Wikipedia Manual of Style and don't revert edits that bring articles more in-line with the MOS. Specifically, bold text should be used infrequently, and usually only at the beginning of the article for the article subject. Repeated use for emphasis is distracting for the reader - see MOS:BOLD. Also, please use wikilinks only the first time a term is mentioned (WP:OVERLINK). Thank you. Ravensfire (talk) 15:38, 14 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

community sanctions notification edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in South Asian social groups. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has enacted a more stringent set of rules. Any administrator may impose sanctions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

If you undo my valid edits at Bairagi (caste) again, I will ask for you to be blocked. You need to understand our policies on sourcing, eg WP:RS. Pinging RegentsPark. - Sitush (talk) 07:43, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
And now you are reverting valid tags and copyediting. Wikipedia is not the place to promote/glorify any caste. - Sitush (talk) 07:59, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
And we don't do this - picking out one ruler as an image for the infobox is glorification. Most caste members are nobodies. - Sitush (talk) 08:11, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
OK, you are now reverting unverified caste claims relating to individuals, including ones that breach WP:BLP. Given your history here & previous warnings, I think you need at least a very long topic ban from anything to do with castes, and probably an indefinite block. - Sitush (talk) 08:39, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Specifically your moves violated the MOS:HONORIFICS and WP:NCIN guidelines; mahant, raja, swami, acharya, pandit etc. should never be in the title of the articles. Also note we follow WP:COMMONNAME as well which your move of Udham Singh violated. Please do not move pages without discussion, always start a WP:MOVEREQUEST than disruptively moving multiple pages. General sanctions edit

I am an uninvolved administrator and am attempting to understand what is happening at Bairagi (caste). I find that focusing on specific issues is more productive than arguing about everything at once. Accordingly, I asked why you removed {{pn}} from a reference to a 1948-page book. Your reply was a link with no explanation. You then made many edits to the article but the reference still has no page number and the {{pn}} tag has not been restored. This topic is under general sanctions and editors who are unwilling or unable to explain their edits will be sanctioned. Please reply to my question at the article talk page and explain what your link is supposed to show. Johnuniq (talk) 01:14, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Gupta Ynr: I don't see your response, yet you are editing the article. Indeed, your edits include more references with no page numbers; examples: 02:49, 7 August 2021 + 03:25, 7 August 2021. Please examine my previous messages and respond before further editing. Including a page number is just the first of several issues that have been raised on the article talk page. Please can you not add images here in future until you have a firm grasp of what is and is not allowed & refrqin from lying that things are your own work when they aren't. It creates a lot of extra work for other volunteers on the projects. If in doubt, either don't do it or ask first. - Sitush (talk) 17:39, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Moves edit

Will you please stop being an idiot. You are still repeatedly moving Vairagi Sadhu (Ascetics) despite note on the talk page. - Sitush (talk) 08:45, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Repeatedly moving an article - literally many times in a few hours - is disruptive & seems to have caused problems for the Wikipedia mobile app users. We have a procedure - WP:RM. You need to slow down as you seem to be trying to run on Wikipedia before you can walk. I should not have said you are an idiot, sorry, but my patience has been stretched to the limit by both you and V.S.bhardwaj, who is just as bad because they are doing the same sort of thing. - Sitush (talk) 09:12, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Warning regarding page moves edit

See Talk:Celibate Ascetics (Vairagi)#Article moves. I will indefinitely block you if, within the next seven days, you move another page without a prior clear consensus in a discussion lasting at least 24 hours on the article talk page. Johnuniq (talk) 10:10, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

No l can not move another page sir Gupta Ynr (talk) 10:16, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction edit

The following sanction now applies to you:

You have been indefinitely topic banned from all pages and discussions concerning India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, broadly construed. Please read WP:TBAN to see what "topic banned" means.

You have been sanctioned for the repeated disruptive edits and moves without explanation or discussion and often with poor sources. Editors making changes like these in a topic under discretionary sanctions need to be able to communicate effectively in English.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Johnuniq (talk) 07:10, 22 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

After the disruption discussed at Talk:Celibate Ascetics (Vairagi)#Article moves (permalink), there was another flurry of broken article moves with no discussion.

See logs and edit filter. Johnuniq (talk) 07:10, 22 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Gupta Ynr: I have reverted your recent edits because they violate the topic ban described above. You are not permitted to edit or comment regarding these topics. Repeated violations will lead to blocks. Johnuniq (talk) 05:09, 31 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:04, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

January 2022 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  User:Ymblanter (talk) 08:41, 22 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
First, all of your recent contributions are related to the Indian topics, from which you are topic-banned (and have been already blocked for violation of the topic ban). Second, your edits at Bairagi Brahmin were to add copyrighted material to this article, so that I had to revision-delete your edits. Given that you talk page is full of warnings, and that you have already been blocked twice, my conclusion is that you are incapable of editing Wikipedia in a constructive way. This is an ordinary admin action, not an arbitration enforcement. If you think you can edit Wikipedia constructively in topics not related to India you are welcome to post an unblock request and convince the reviewing administrator.--Ymblanter (talk) 08:17, 22 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
