Frequent vandalism edit

In case you wonder why there's so many less-than-friendly ppl vandalizing my Talkpage: They don't like the fact they were banned on deWP for (constant) trolling and harassment. By now, we ban on sight... and usually, those bans result in a vandalism here. --Guandalug (talk) 17:05, 17 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Adam Smith edit

Actually, checking the interwikis is exactly what I did. I don't even know which languaje is that, but I clicked in the green point and it sended me to a page where I did not understand anything either, but the interwikis link to "Wikipedia:Good articles". I checked as well our own page for featured articles, and it has its own interwiki starting with zh, different from the other page. MBelgrano (talk) 23:56, 28 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Let me see: en:Adam Smith links to zh-classical:斯密亞丹, which has a green star icon in the upper right corner. Clicking on that leads me to zh-classical:維基大典:卓著, which has (among others) the interwikis de:Wikipedia:Exzellente Artikel and en:Wikipedia:Featured articles. Therefore I assume that the green star markup means "Featured article" (as I cannot read the language at all, I have to guess from facts like those). In fact, the zh-classical "good article" markup seems to be a blue 'L' style icon (like the german Wikipedia one, actually), as can be seen in zh-classical:漢語. That one leads to zh-classical:維基大典:正典 which in turn interwiki-links to de:Wikipedia:Lesenswerte_Artikel and en:Wikipedia:Good_articles. Thus, I assume the "Link FA" markup for zh-classical in Adam Smith is correct. Is there any indication my logic is flawed? If so, I'll revert the changes, of course. --Guandalug (talk) 08:58, 29 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Template:Link GA edit

Thanks for getting your bot to do the work of adding this template to articles. Will the bot continue to maintain articles with this template so that they are all up-to-date? Gary King (talk) 02:28, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's its task to maintain Link GA the same way as Link FA (or Link FL), wherever those templates are in use. I learned about the Link GA - template reactivation on the german Wikipedia, where somebody added the enWP template to the documentation, so I let my bot know. And yes, I'll run it once a month to keep stuff up-to-date (or as much as possible). --Guandalug (talk) 06:42, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hi. I just noticed that you added a GA link on the Washington, D.C. page, but it doesn't seem to be working. There's nothing to indicate in the language list that the article is GA. Thanks! -epicAdam(talk) 14:53, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Most likely that depends on your chosen skin ... and whether you cleared your cache or not. I do see a green "plus" symbol in the language links (Vector skin). --Guandalug (talk) 15:23, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Makes sense. I'll check again. Best, epicAdam(talk) 15:52, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Esperantido was listed as GA in Esperanto, but it's not. Perhaps it was mislisted in another language, and the bot copied the error? — kwami (talk) 20:28, 5 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

eo:Esperantidoj has a button linking to eo:Vikipedio:Legindaj artikoloj which mentions {{Link GA}} so it seems to be a GA. Gary King (talk) 00:24, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, the blue 'L' in the upper right corner is the markup for 'good article' ("Lesenswert"). The template is eo:Ŝablono:Leginda and transwiki-links to the german 'good article' template. --Guandalug (talk) 11:49, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Good work with those GA templates   I'm doing some work too [1] Regards --by Màñü飆¹5 talk 10:02, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your luck my bot doesn't dislike meddlers in his affairs... ;) Good job, saves me a few edits, I think. --Guandalug (talk) 15:52, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Uhm, some troubles emerged, I suggest you to stop adding Link GA until that thread closes --by Màñü飆¹5 talk 20:30, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's kinda hard to do..... my bot is done for this. Next run end of the month, so I guess the trouble ought to be over by then :D --Guandalug (talk) 07:22, 8 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Link GA x Link FA edit

Hello. Your bot probably has a bug. It replaced the Link FA|cs template for Link GA|cs in the Nebular hypothesis article without any reason. I have reverted it. Jan.Kamenicek (talk) 08:57, 13 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reporting this. It's not really a "bug", just a timing problem. The articles was made "featured" on June 6th, but the bot didn't re-scan the articles (and thus had the old state in its database). I gotta rewrite that bot module, maybe there's an efficient way of handling this problem. --Guandalug (talk) 14:13, 13 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
