Frusciante edit

I was planning on tackling that article shortly (within the month of August), following BTW's FAC, and, possibly, BSSM's FAC. Frusciante is probably my favorite human being, so I'd naturally love to improve the article. I'll contact you shortly when I've compiled some sources such as interviews, publications and images. Unfortunately, I do not have access to an audio cutter, which is required to cut audio files to 30 seconds and then upload them here. I'll see if I can ask around, though. Best wishes, NSR77 TC 21:36, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also, I commented about your opposition at the BTW FAC. Regards, NSR77 TC 21:49, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
You could just cross out your Oppose and write Support, or make an entirely new line, giving support because your concerns have been addressed. NSR77 TC 00:39, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Apparently I skipped over the "This Is the Place" problem. I fixed that sentence, introduced Anthony in the lead, and fixed up the Background section. I believe that's all. Thanks for your time in reviewing the article. Regards, NSR77 TC 00:39, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done. Thanks once again for being such a great nit-picker. BTW has only improved from your thorough eyes. Regards, NSR77 TC 12:02, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Possibly, but not definitely. Frusciante is certainly up there on my to-do list, though. Glad that there's someone else out there that shares my vast interest in him. :) Regards, NSR77 TC 23:55, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not a problem. Regards, NSR77 TC 21:25, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well you can never go wrong with more references, that's for sure. An FAC will only ask the article to be better sourced. Otherwise, the additions you suggest seem good. Regards NSR77 TC 23:17, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Originals, yes. They're my pride and joy. And I'm not rich, I simply put a few of my paychecks together (quite a few ;) ) and bought 'em. Also I'm in a band, so, yeah. I want to get a Telecaster somewhere down the road, although the sound produced with one isn't my all time favorite...it's too...tinny. What do you play? NSR77 TC 23:32, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
The Jag was about...two grand-ish? The Strat was just under three. NSR77 TC 23:45, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I, do, indeed here. There are also some other great interviews here. Regards, NSR77 TC 21:11, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArticleHistory at By the Way edit

Thanks for updating the {{ArticleHistory}} template at By the Way, but doing the work partially actually causes more work for the Bot. If you don't mind waiting, as expalined at {{fac}}, GimmeBot will come through and do it correctly. Thanks, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:37, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

No problem. Yes, GAs should be done manually; they don't have as much "process" as FAs do. But for FAs, we have that big red lettering in the template to avoid having manual updates, as there are many steps involved. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:44, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Volume 1, no. 4 — July 2007
"It was the most horrible show ever. Every single note, every single word, hurt, knowing that we were no longer a band. I kept looking over at John and seeing this dead statue of disdain...that night, John disappeared from the topsy-turvy world of the Red Hot Chili Peppers."Anthony Kiedis

Rolling Stones cover with Frusciante edit

Hi, and thanks for all your great effort on the Frusciante article. I noticed that the Rolling Stones cover is no longer there. I thought you (perhaps) knew best as to why? I think as of now it would be better than the 2006 live photo, where his face is hidden (and fair use of the cover should be ok - it is also mentioned on the image page, as the cover is explicitly mentioned in the article, so it is not replacable). Just drop a note here, and again: Great Job Done!! --HJensen, talk 07:57, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll put it back for now since you want it, but I find the image passè and outdated. I plan on replacing it as soon as I find a good candidate. Grim-Gym 13:16, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

BSSM edit

Personally I don't want to start a tiff here between various editors. Regardless of the strength of your review, I was planning on fixing most points. As you noticed I did not make any personal attacks, either. However, points regarding the Christgau one are dismissible as he is a well known critic and a two-star honorable mention is a highly regarded album grade. I was nearly done with your requests anyway, so it is really no big deal. NSR77 TC 14:43, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I addressed your most specific comments one by one at the FAC. Please identify things more specifically if more problems remain. Regards, NSR77 TC 16:21, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I hope you realize I never have and never will hold hard feelings towards anyone on the Internet, as I can never ever understand who that person actually is, and I only know the surface of their personality, if that. You yourself are extremely honorable for what you do with John Frusciante, and his article. And the Christgau thing I myself was having a difficult time with because it's hard for me to foresee what a reader may and may not know when I myself know who he is and what the rating means. I clarified what the two star mention amounts to, and will add "critic" now. The entire word is a key component I was missing. And thank you so much for the thorough review of the article; none of it was performed in vain. NSR77 TC 16:45, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Also, here is "Under the Bridge" from that faithful night. Personally, I love what John did with the "Under the bridge downtown/is where Idrew some blood..." section, as well as guitar distortion, but it's obvious that he was drifting far apart from Anthony, Flea and Chad. Ironic that Roseanne would be the host. Regards, NSR77 TC 16:50, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I simply can not find a single bad review. There's a mild review by Piero Scaruffi, but, of course, it's among the only reviews for the Chili Peppers that hasn't been translated from Italian to English. Since the album is almost 20 years old, any reviews that were negative are probably from non-major outlets, and long gone. I'll continue searching, but so far, nothing has popped up. NSR77 TC 19:05, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I wholeheartedly agree with you on this concern, so it's no problem for me to continue searching. NSR77 TC 19:13, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
The short Rolling Stone and AMG reviews are both positive, and show no negativity. The reason I placed criticism from PopMatters was because that was all I could find. Feel free to look for yourself, but I just can't find anything. NSR77 TC 19:23, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • I think you're misunderstanding NPOV. The very fact that we can't find any criticism after scouring the web shows that there is no need to include any. Kamryn · Talk 21:24, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the kind words. :) NSR77 TC 03:59, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Also, I think another Peer Review for Frusciante should occur before we even consider FAC. It's on the right track, but not quite there. And I'll now focus all of my attention on the article. NSR77 TC 12:20, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
