December 2009 edit

  If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Godfried Toussaint, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

COI edit request edit

I would like to request that the notice stating:

A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. Please discuss further on the talk page. (August 2010)

be removed from my page.

Many thanks, (GodfriedToussaint (talk) 12:49, 22 September 2014 (UTC))Reply

The template was added to Godfried Toussaint in August 2010, and you have made various edits to the article since. As User:GodfriedToussaint as recently as August 2014‎, and possibly also as User:Godfried12345 and User:Godfriedwiki. As User:Wuhwuzdat explained to you in December 2009 (see the top of this talk page), a conflict of interest can arise as the result of incompatibility between the aim of Wikipedia and the aim of an individual editor. Edits where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred are discouraged. A solution is to use the Template:Request edit, as you did in this section, to request edits be made to the article by others users. You would list the requested change(s), the reason(s) for your request(s), and if necessary reliable sources where we can verify claims. You are currently the last user that has edited the article. If you stop editing the article yourself and if the current version of the article complies with Wikipedia's content policies (in particular WP:NPOV), the template may be removed after a discussion on the article's talk page. We can not yet remove the template. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 16:26, 15 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
