February 2013 edit

Hello, I'm Walter Görlitz. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Gülen movement, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. In this case, a reference from a third-part, known as a secondary source would be ideal as it would show that this is important to someone other than the movement.   Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. It is clear that your principal purpose of editing is to make Wikipedia's coverage of Gülen movement more favourable, which you have been doing both by addition of promotional content, as, for example, here, and also by removal of critical content, sometimes with edit summaries which are at best dubious, and at times unambiguously inaccurate, as for example here. If you have a personal connection with the subject, then you should probably not be editing about it, as your involvement will make it difficult for you to see how your own editing will look from the detached perspective of an independent observer. A Wikipedia article must be written from a neutral point of view, not from the point of view of an insider, and Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline strongly discourages editing on a topic in which yo have a personal involvement. March 2013 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Gülen movement, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:38, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Talk:Gülen movement. Such edits are disruptive and appear to be vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please stop removing the comments left by others. Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:06, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
