Pointed the listing of the TV show "John Gunther's High Road" in the "1959-60 United States TV Schedule" to the "High Road" section of the "John Gunther" article (John Gunther's High Road) -- also put a relevant comment on the section heading in the "John Gunther" article that the section was now linked.GlennRay77 (talk) 21:32, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! You did a great job with great research and fantastic links. Not only was I also shocked this article didn't already exist, I was stunned some months ago to discover that the show was not even referred to in the Dick Clark article! I am the one who added to that article, but did not have the time or the resources to do the fantastic research which you did. Thank you so much. Couple of minor comments: are you sure "David Seville" appeared on this show? My recollection is that Dick Clark himself lip synced the David Seville portion of the Chipmunk records. Also: are you sure this show was filmed? At the time, we were always given the impression that it was broadcast LIVE? But this could be a result of my childhood naievity. Do you agree that Dick Clark's weekly ritual of unveiling the "Top Ten" records of the coming week is obviously the inspiration for David Letterman's bit? What a nice nice response! Thank you for taking the time. I can believe that the top 10 lists so obiquitious in the 1970's were David Letterman's inspiration, but I still contend that the FORMAT was the invention of Dick Clark! Clark was the first one that used a number ten to number one countdown format. That is not how People Magazine and a dozen other publications did it (including the New York Post, as I recall). "Your Hit Parade", on the radio in the 1930's and 1940's, and on television in the 1950's, predated Dick Clark. Every week it presented the top ten songs of the week, but in random order. The last song of each show was number one, but numbers two through ten could come in any order. Dick Clark was the first with the number ten to number one "count down", and as far as I know to this day David Letterman is the only other one to do it in that manner!
