Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (GlenholmeSchool) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is Devereux Glenholme School. Thank you. Orlady (talk) 16:39, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Devereux Manor High School

You recently removed Devereux Manor High School as an alternate name of Devereux Glenholme School. Can you explain the difference between the two? Nancy Spungen is listed as an alumni of the school. It says on her page that she was "enrolled at the Devereux Glenholme School and Devereux Manor High School", which seems to imply a connection between the two. Please explain.--Auric talk 15:43, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Devereux Manor High School is located in PA and is not part of The Glenholme School, which is located in CT. They are separate entities. Devereux Manor High School may be affiliated with Glenholme's parent company, the Devereux Foundation, but it not an aka or fka for The Glenholme School. I trust this clarifies your question and addresses your concerns.

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, GlenholmeSchool, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 06:39, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
To sum up: Wikipedia accounts must belong to individuals, not organisations. Your username indicates that it belongs to Devereux Glenholme School, rather than a specific individual, so it isn't allowed. However, that doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with your edits. On the contrary, we welcome your contributions, as long as you abide by our guidelines on conflicts of interest. As it says in the message above, please feel free to request an unblock to change your username, or to simply create another account if you want. (By the way, names that contain the school name are allowed, if it is clear it belongs to an individual; for example, "Joe Bloggs at Glenholme School" is an acceptable username.) — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 06:44, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
