NPOV dispute edit

Yeah, I'm disputing my own edits...but it only seems responsible. As one of the programmers of the gnuboy project, I realized that writing the article for work I was involved in could introduce a biased personal slant into the article text. If anyone has problems with the encyclopedicity of the text as it stands, please use your best judgment. - Gilgamesh 05:51, 7 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't look like it is violating WP:NPOV to me, with the exception of that you went on to edit wikipedia, which might slightly vain. I think it'd be better to link to Gilgamesh somewhere in the article. The only other thing is that the rationale behind making gnuboy was because the emulation scene was "lame" at the time. However, if that was your driving motive behind development then it should stay in the article because that is factual and (therefore) enyclopedic information. (And as far as I can tell, it is true, so I won't consider removing it.) I think I'll go add a link to your user page and remove the NPOV dispute template right after this, since the article is just about perfect. --DavidHOzAu 03:52, 1 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the delay. Actually, I've already been on Wikipedia for quite some time. - Gilgamesh 10:07, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh yeah, I have cleaned up the article a bit. The only thing it needs is a non-red link to the Quake shell. I'll give some alternatives here, but I'm not really sure since which of these is the more correct link because I haven't had the opportunity of looking at the source codes or playing the game. I think this could be a reference to the language QuakeC, or the interface as described in Quake II engine, or the game's interface itself. If none of these are viable, you might even be able to get away with using the phrase "Quake Shell". I'll leave the choice up to you. --DavidHOzAu 03:52, 1 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

official site edit

no links to any offical site for the Gnuboy or at least links to where you can download Gnuboy --Joe dude 01:43, 17 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

The official site seems to have disappeared, along with the server that hosted it. - Gilgamesh 10:07, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thankfully, the wayback machine has archived some editions. I've added a link to last archived version, but I'm not sure if that's the most recent edition or not. (It's a very pretty website, I like the spiffy backgrounds.) --DavidHOzAu 00:37, 20 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

final version edit

I have a copy of the last version of the official gnuboy sources, from the short-lived cvs server originally hosted by Joshua_ in efnet #gameboy. This version fixes a number of small bugs in 1.0.3 and should fix one or two CGB games which wouldn't run before (namely 'Tom & Jerry in Mouse Attacks!') It is hosted at [1] --Lord Nightmare 15:56, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tone edit

This article could be a bit more encyclopaedic in tone. IMHO, you should leave out the stuff about 'lameness' and the subjective opinions of the program's authors. User:Ed Avis —Preceding comment was added at 00:29, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
