Speedy deletion of Virginia Association of Counties edit

A tag has been placed on Virginia Association of Counties requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.  Ravenswing  22:26, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Virginia Association of Counties is not a corporation or company. It is an association. It protects and defends localities in Virginia. That's why it's important and relevant. Please stop the deletion of the page. Thanks.

Regarding the re-creation of your article, I encourage you to read Wikipedia's notability guidelines for corporations and organizations. You must ensure that the organization meets the notability guidelines AND that your article text asserts why the organization is notable. Be sure to site reliable third-party sources. As to the copyright issue, please see the guidelines on donating copyrighted materials to Wikipedia. It is not enough to give "yourself" or even "Wikipedia" permission to use the text -- in order to post copyrighted material here -- you must follow the steps listed, understanding that by doing so, you are giving others the right to, edit, copy, move, rearrange and split the text, to "mirror" it on other sites, and to use it in derivative works, including commercial ones.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask here. I'll do my best to respond. --Clubjuggle T/C 11:21, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
