Hi, I hope I am not annoying you by notifications from giving attribution to you when I create lists based on the above categories.

You can safely ignore most of the notifications, but please check Talk:Dmitry Yazov. – Fayenatic London 13:51, 8 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Some issues edit

Hi Geregen2. I wanted to mention some issues with your article creations. Most of these issues are quite trivial but fixing them adds up to a lot of work because you're so prolific at creating articles. :-)

You can see the changes I made at your latest article Nikita Khlusov here. Specifically:

  • Please include a short description in the format of "Russian footballer (born 2000)" at the top of the page.
  • Please pipe football clubs not just in the career statistics tables but also elsewhere.
  • Please mention the footballer's playing position in the lede.
  • Please begin sections with the article subject's name.
  • Per WP:STUBSPACING please "Leave two blank lines between the first stub template and whatever precedes it."
  • For career statistics tables please use the standard table layout and formatting as outlined at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players. It is the result of past discussions of the community of football editors at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football.
  • (Does not apply at Nikita Khlusov) If a footballer has not played at international level, the section heading for his career should be "Career", not "Club career". This is also mentioned at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players.

Let me know if anything requires clarification. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 13:25, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Updating team squads edit

Why do you always randomly add/remove one player from the team, and then you simply change update status from "August 2022" to "February 2023"? Update ENTIRE squad as of this date, and not just one player that you stumbled upon, or simply don't change anything. It is actually disruptive since you are giving a false appearance that the squad is updated "as of right now", when in fact it is not because you didn't add/remove several other players that joined/left since the squad was properly updated for the last time. Snowflake91 (talk) 16:07, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Snowflake91 I can not perfectly maintain every squad in the world. I am not superhuman. So I am trying to update at least the top leagues. I updated the squads after the transfer window closed for three top Italian tiers and three top German tiers for now and will go through French squads shortly.
If a player from, for example, a German club moves to a club in China or Albania or whatever, there are four choices I have.
1. Include the player on the squad listing for his new Chinese/Albanian club, but not update the 'As of' field for that squad. That way a player who joined the squad in February 2023 will be listed on 'July 2022' squad. Which is inconsistent.
2. Include the player and update the 'As of' to the date of that player's transfer, as I've been doing. Also not perfect.
3. Don't include the player on the new club's squad at all.
4. Suddenly stop updating the German squads and investigate the full squad/transfer news for that random Albanian club. And if a player left that Albanian club to go Montenegro, investigate that Montenegro's club transfers and so on so forth, that is not feasible for me to do.
In some cases solution 2 works fine, if not instantly (if a player moves from one German club to another German club, I know I will update the other German club in a couple of days and the updated value of 'As of' would make sense then).
In general case, neither of those sound like a perfect accurate solution to me. So I just need to pick one imperfect one out of those four. I can start doing solution No. 1 instead. That would also be not great, but oh well.
Cheers

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Anton Solovyov requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Categories edit

Hello, Geregen2,

Please do not remove all of the contents of a category so that it is tagged for speedy deletion. This is considered "emptying out of process" and is considered disruptive editing. All of your recent edits could be reverted. If you believe a category should be deleted, merged or renamed, please make a bundled nomination at WP:CFD. There are detailed instructions there on how to do this. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:13, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

My apologies, will not do that going forward.
Thank you Geregen2 (talk) 02:15, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also, there's no rule that we can't have a category for a club that doesn't exist. As long as the club is notable enough for an article, categories are fine. I'll be rolling back your removals. Cheers, Number 57 10:32, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sure we can have an category for a club that doesn't exist, but has an article about it. That was not my comment and those were not the categories I was removing.
All the clubs I was removing do not have an article, are not notable enough to have it in the future, and most do not exist anymore. Those were mostly 10th-tier English clubs from the 1920s and such. Geregen2 (talk) 10:54, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
A few of the the clubs I checked you trying to delete the categories for are notable, as they played at a notable level or played in the FA Cup (for example Bedford Avenue or Bedford Queen's Works. Number 57 09:29, 21 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Badri Akhvlediani edit

The article Badri Akhvlediani has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unable to find significant coverage to establish WP:NOTE

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
