It's not that I didn't want to answer. Actually, I left Wikipedia for drama that I didnt want to talk about (its a lllooonnnggggg story). I have now returned, but still find it hard to edit because I have exams next week (and I have a certain average to maintain). Inline audio link pop-ups

What it would look like to hover over an audio link

As you're one of the people who commented about formatting/clutter on the {{audio}} template, I'm wondering what you think of my proposal for a javascript popup instead. I fixed the "clicking on the icon goes to the image page" problem a while ago, but there is still the "overloaded interface"/"too many click targets" problem, and I'm proposing we use javascript to hide the extra links until you hover over it. You can try out the mock-up yourself by adding this to your User:Gennaro Prota/monobook.js:

Perhaps I've cause some confusion, sorry. Initially I updated the png, converting the gif on the NIST site (to png). Then, I realized that a) the image could be on Commons b) there was no point in converting, as the image quality wasn't certainly going to improve for that. Welcome, Gennaro Prota, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

WinKey

I think that this paragraph was better in the WinKey entry. The problem of the WinKey was not just in early First Person Shooters, but any software that heavily relied on shortcut keys, including most graphic aplications and Maya (software). Yes, we pried out the keys. Why would we bury this history under trivia in "Modifyer keys" when it is unique to the WinKey?

It is also possible to disable the WinKeys entirely by modifying the Windows Registry. The WinKeys are powerful enough to take the focus away from an application, yet are often placed directly adjacent to commonly used modifier keys, making it easy to hit them inadvertently. While in some applications this behavior is merely distracting or annoying, in others (such as real-time games) it can be devastating. Some people find the placement of the WinKeys so unfortunate and simply pry the keys from the keyboard altogether. Some keyboard drivers (such as Microsoft IntelliType) allow users to easily disable the WinKeys.

Comment

You are right to say that the current article on Comments is programming language specific and that there other kinds of comments. However, I think the solution is to have to articles, one dealing with comment sin the general case and one dealing with the specific details of programming language comments. The current article does need to be renamed as Comments (computer programming) or something along those lines, rather than its current more general name. Derek farn 22:51, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

My suggestion would be to move the current "comment (computing)" to "comment (computer programming)" and have a new article "comment (computing)" that dealt with the more general case. Any general material in the existing article being considered for transfer to the general article. DX10 operating system

Thanks for notifying me. I disagree though. If we follow this logic we should also have a redirect from DX9 and from DX8 and... Of course DX7 is the Yahama keyboard. Also, people reading about DirectX are unlikely to be perplexed by the abbreviation and look it up here. And then again, what about the future? Should we have DXv for each future v version? And also DXx.y and DXx.y.z. etc.? And what about other technologies and pieces of software? After all "VC6" and "VC6.5" are common abbreviations for Visual C++ 6 and Visual C++ 6 SP5. —Gennaro Prota^•Talk 09:09, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey Gennaro Prota. I think it's unfortunate that Esperanza had to come to be deleted, but it did feel like it was a different organization than it used to be. The values of Esperanza still hold, however, and many of its programs will hopefully continue. Hi, thanks for notifying me. I see that Docu changed the url back to opac. In effect, the main reason why everything is implemented in the lower layer template {{ISSN search link}} is exactly that if the linked to site becomes unavailable/outdated/whatever we have a single place to modify its url. IMHO MediaWiki should treat ISBN's and ISSN's uniformously but, until then, these ISSN-related templates are an acceptable alternative. —Gennaro Prota^•Talk 11:50, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

I've been trying to find an original definition of ENU as American English, but the closest I have come is your entry here. I know I've seen this used, but can't recall where. Speedy deletion of Template:Usage instructions cross-reference

A tag has been placed on Template:Usage instructions cross-reference requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

As the guideline on userpages describes, this is undesired. It is suggested that you edit the userpage to prevent this showing. It can be done by adding a colon (:) before the word Category, like this: [[:Category:Wikipedia articles incorporating text from FOLDOC]].
