Tarick Salmaci

Hi GeneralNotability. I understand why you closed Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Taricksalmaci/Archive as you did, but a new SPA has shown up trying to make the same edits to Tarick Salmaci now that the PP has expired. This could be a case of the subject of the article once again trying to create a new account, but I don't think Boxingdet just showing up out of the blue is just coincidental. I'm not sure if another SPI is appropriate here, but if it is then let me know. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:29, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Marchjuly, yes, it would be appropriate to file a new SPI here. GeneralNotability (talk) 12:38, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for clarifying this. Boxingdet has responded to the 3RR warning I left on their user talk page; so, I will first see if this can be resolved in some other way. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:59, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Draft deletion nomination

Hello again! Yesterday, i nominated one of the drafts created by one of the 186.111.128.0/20 IP addresses (186.111.138.112), possible sock (not definitive sock) of Bedriczwaleta. I have tried to get the draft speedy deleted for days, but after 186.111.129.43 mentioned XFD as a place to get this, as said by 186.111.129.43, "deleted or not deleted", i gave up on trying to get that speedy deletion occurring and finally nominated that draft for deletion. Now, SmokeyJoe requested to get one of the SPI clerks to attest on why this draft should be deleted as a conclusion of SPI case and i'm calling you here as you have some experience on the matter (authorized SPI clerk). I want this draft to be deleted, but i'm not sure since you have stated for the record that they are not definite socks of Bedriczwaleta. Is G5 applies to suspected cases, not confirmed cases? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. SMB99thx my edits 06:51, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

DYK for Shooting of Greg Gunn

On 3 September 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Shooting of Greg Gunn, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that eight judges recused themselves from proceedings following the fatal shooting of Greg Gunn? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Shooting of Greg Gunn. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Shooting of Greg Gunn), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Good day. I have expanded the page you restored for me yesterday. If you don't mind, please take a look at it in your spare time. There's no rush. Let me know what you think about it meeting the guidelines for pages on Wikipedia. I left you a message at the restored page talk page too. Thank you for your assistance! Alaska4Me2, thank you for asking me, but content review isn't my strongest area. It would probably be better to submit it through Wikipedia:Articles for creation for somebody else to look at it. GeneralNotability (talk) 18:15, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
That's very helpful, thank you! I had no idea there was such an animal as the link above. I'm grateful for your kindness. A4M2 Alaska4Me2 (talk) 23:34, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

I have a quick question for you: are there any experienced reviewers you know and trust and think are especially good at the task? If so, would you be allowed to recommend that person? Thank you in advance, sir. A4M2 Alaska4Me2 (talk) 00:57, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi again. Please help if you can! The Chicks on the Right radio show article you moved to a space in my page as a kind of placeholder because it was previously deleted has been moved to a drafting area. Now there's an editor who has already made a note at the top of the draft page to get it speedy deleted. I'm hoping someone can move it back. I worked really hard on it yesterday to bring it up to Wiki standards. Many sources were added, a lot of new information was added, and the wording was improved along with some inconsistencies corrected. It would be a shame if it was just deleted and gone after all that work. I think it deserves to be re-considered as a permanent article. Thank you. Ongoing Sockpuppetry Investigation on Yealdgate

Hello GN, Following this SPI case I opened on the 3rd of September and your messages on the talk pages of the suspected sockpuppets as seen here & here it would appear as though Yealdgate suddenly stopped editing after the SPI was opened & interestingly enough it appears that Lewishhh has seen the message but has chosen not to respond or defend himself as your message was sent on the 3rd of September & I can observe him/her editing here which is on the 6th, hence it is plausible they saw & ignored it. I wasn’t sure whether to post this message on the SPI page or here. Thanks. Celestina007 14:29, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Celestina007, if you have concerns or more information about an open case, best to post on that case's page. GeneralNotability (talk) 15:27, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Possible sock IP

Hello GeneralNotability, any idea if 105.112.98.77/105.112.101.60 a sock of Odinga123 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)? The anon submitted Draft:Omah Lay for a review which was created by Odinga123 who was blocked by you for undisclosed paid editing and then they created the same draft under Draft:Omah lay along with Draft:T-Plux. Also, user Rex0129 looks connected who uploaded file:T-Plux.jpg. Thank you, GSS💬 05:28, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

GSS, I don't think the IPs are the same person as Odinga - Odinga never edited from mobile and didn't use edit summaries. I suspect, however, that they may be Uchechukwuedeh (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki), who I think is connected to Rex0129 (since Rex uploaded a file credited to Uchechukwuedeh). I'm going to drop uw-agf-sock and uw-login on all of them and see what we get. GeneralNotability (talk) 13:51, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

Coincidence?

I just received a talk page message asking me to edit three articles, from a new editor User:Bikaneri Wikipedian, for no obvious reason. Of the three, one was created and another was substantially edited by banned sockpuppet User:Bharat Ka Wikipedian. As you were involved in the sockpuppetry block I thought you might find this interesting. It could just be, AGF, that they share a local interest in the three topics, of course. PamD 14:13, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

PamD, as Auric Goldfinger once said, once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, the third time is enemy action. That doesn't actually apply here, I just like the quote. They've showed up and started asking people to get the articles to index on Google...yeah, that's not suspicious at all. I've blocked them as a suspected sock, thanks for letting me know. GeneralNotability (talk) 21:41, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

Refusual to use talk page

Hey, I don't know what to do about this but 75.186.4.43 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) doesn't seem to acknowledge talk pages (or maybe not even know how to use them) and is consistently disruptive based on talk page warnings and recent unsourced edits. I've taken this to ANI before here and an administrator has said that it needs to be dealt with but nothing has happened. I really don't know how to talk to them if they use no edit summaries at all and doesn't talk on talk pages. Any assistance is welcome. FozzieHey (talk) 16:04, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

FozzieHey, I've partially blocked them from mainspace, let's see if that gets them to start engaging. GeneralNotability (talk) 19:02, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
FozzieHey, it seems that they aren't particularly interested in talking...they proceeded to create a user account with a rather unkind username and continue their editing. Their block has been upgraded to a full block, so hopefully that will improve the situation for a while. GeneralNotability (talk) 19:38, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the help, I really don't understand why that'd be as most of their edits seem fine (they just don't provide any sources) but I guess that's how it is sometimes. Anyway thanks again! FozzieHey (talk) 20:30, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

Aydin Aghdashloo

Could you please remove the protection you've placed on Aydin Aghdashloo? Please review the talk page. The unverified sources are very dangerous in this case. there are no alleged rape cases ever brought against Mr. Aghdashloo as the problematic edits in the locked version suggest. This is a very serious issue as there is capital punishment for rape in Iran. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CameliaMTF (talkcontribs)

CameliaMTF, if you want a change, make an edit request on the talk page. There are reliable sources saying that accusations are being made, so we will report what those sources say. GeneralNotability (talk) 16:50, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
Please see the talk page. There are multiple comments there that you should read. There are multiple unreliable sources there which shouldn't be there especially the tweet by Farnaz Fassihi which doesn't provide any sources. CameliaMTF (talk) 13:10, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
CameliaMTF, as I said before, if you want a change, make an edit request on the talk page. Asking me repeatedly to make changes or lower the protection will not get you anywhere. GeneralNotability (talk) 15:54, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
