Welcome edit

Hello, Garland R. Hunt, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created was Garland R. Hunt, which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Speedy deletion nomination of Garland R. Hunt edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Garland R. Hunt, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Randykitty (talk) 16:20, 28 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Autobiography edit

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Garland R. Hunt. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Do not share accounts edit

Based on the content of Talk:Garland R. Hunt (specifically this version), wherein Nicole Brown Johnson (talk · contribs) states that the Garland R. Hunt pages "is intended to describe myself on my user page", I have to presume that you mistakenly edited the talk page using Ms. Johnson's account. Please do not share user accounts on Wikipedia. Doing so is a violation of policies, and can get one or both accounts blocked. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:36, 28 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Improper use of user page edit

Wikipedia is not a social site, and you user page is not to be used as a promotional device. Please consider rewriting your user page to describe your activities here on Wikipedia, not to promote yourself. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 22:27, 29 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
