That would be a start, certainly. I have more than enough material in fact - Quentin Skinner's Foundations has over 30 mentions, and those alone would take time to go through. My way of building up articles probably seems atomistic and non-linear, but I'm not going to apologise too much for it. The whole absolutism debate isn't something to rush at. It would be useful if you put it on the Talk page of the article, so that it can be integrated gradually (by anyone). It doesn't have the kind of inline referencing that is now considered de rigueur here (not that I think that deWP has that wrong for this kind of topic); and it also mixes the works and life in a way that doesn't scale up as well as separate sections, which are pretty obviously better for a writer who turned his hand to disparate subjects. Well, it took my modem dying on Friday, giving me some compulsory offline days; but I managed to do the note-taking I wanted. I have put most of my first pass up now; also copied in the biography from the talk page; and have begun merging and copy editing and referencing. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference edit
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

- Oh, I'm plenty cranky. I've been writing up a bunch of those 19th and 20th century scholars, and fortunately their coverage is pretty good on the German WP, though their sourcing and formatting style lacks a bit compared to the English WP. I'm embarrassed to admit that I still haven't written up (or translated) Michael Tangl, even while I'm redlinking him all over the place. BTW, I'm pleased to see that the MGH is available online--how can they afford to do that? Hey, maybe you can answer a query: a couple of years ago I often used this database that listed the contents of thousands of German journals (for my purposes, tons of historical and religious journals--I don't know what their other coverage was). I can't remember if it was on a university's server or not--I want to say that there was mention of Stuttgart somewhere. Does this sound familiar to you?
