I would welcome help cleaning up the article, in terms of formatting.

Welcome edit

Hello, GamesMaker, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you have edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been reverted for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of deletion, you might like to draft your article before submission, then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Empty Buffer (talk) 10:13, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Help request edit

Re. London 2012 Games Makers

(I moved your help request here, from the article talk page - your own user page is a better place to use {{tn|helpme)  Chzz  ►  14:59, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}} Please reveiw to make sure that entry is neutral. I may have a close relationship to the post, but it is purely intended to be informative. I hope to remove the banner at the top that warns against a conflict of interest asap, can anyone help make that happen. Thanks GamesMaker (talk) 12:42, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi there.
The article has only one source, and that causes problems - see WP:ONESOURCE.
Articles must have several references to independent reliable sources, such as newspaper articles. See WP:VRS.
The facts in the article should have references to such sources. "london2012.com" is a primary source, and can only be used with care.
For more help, you can either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.
The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello. Chzz  ►  14:59, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

P.S. It is not neutral - this is why we strongly recommend editing with a conflict of interest. For example;

I hope this feedback is useful; if you stick to verifiable facts from independent reliable sources, then neutrality comes naturally. But my #1 advice is, edit some other articles - something you are not closely involved with. Even if you come back to this later, then...editing other things will help you understand much better about how Wikipedia works.

Consider joining some project groups, like WikiProject London, WikiProject Olympics, or whatever. You'll soon meet other editors, and they'll be able to help you too.  Chzz  ►  15:08, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, GamesMaker, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

Please choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. However, do not create a new account if you wish to credit your existing contributions to a new name through a username change. To request a username change:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to edit this talk page even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a list of names that have already been taken. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Requesting to change username edit

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Allowing username change to Volunteer 2012 (talk · contribs). Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. And do take the good advice given to you below to heart, or you could be blocked again.

Request handled by: Beeblebrox (talk)

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

Here's a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a subject that you are trying to create an article about, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to break the 3 important questions above. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:09, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unblock edit

I understand conflict of interest, and I just trying to create a article on a topic whic will be in the publics dialogue. The subject of my article is already well wirtten about in international press, and it is only appropriate that it now has a encyclpedic entry.

I have removed your second unblock request: you are only permitted to have one active one at a time. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 20:16, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:GamesMaker, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Wes Mouse 14:05, 28 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
