Just pointing out to you that your notification here isn't as helpful as you no doubt intended. By reviewing the history of the page, you would see that the editor who you notified created a redirect, not the article itself. That was created by Pedant six months later. While I know that Twinkle doesn't give you the flexibility to do the notifications any way other than how it is programmed, and I'm also aware that Pedant hasn't edited in over a year so is unlikely to respond (and further that another editor has added multiple references to mainstream media, so the tagging may not even be appropriate anymore), I'd like to encourage you to actually look at the history of the article before tagging it using Twinkle. If you still believe it should be prodded, you can still do so manually, while ensuring that the most appropriate editor is notified. It's uniquely irritating to receive a PROD notice for an article one didn't create and, in particular, didn't think was notable enough for an article of its own at the time of creating the redirect, as I am sure you would appreciate. The Redirect from Bobby Cash (Singer) to Bobby Cash (singer) published along with article in mobile version of wikipedia

Thank you for the correction. In some versions of wikipedia i.e. the mobile version for one, the sentence concerning the Redirect from Bobby Cash(Singer) to Bobby Cash(singer lower case),still appears along with the article. Can it be rectified? And could you please address the matter. Thank you.(Catulet (talk) 18:53, 9 July 2016 (UTC))

Template editor granted

Your account has been granted the "templateeditor" user permission, allowing you to edit templates and modules that have been protected with template protection. It also allows you to bypass the title blacklist, giving you the ability to create and edit editnotices. Before you use this user right, please read Wikipedia:Template editor and make sure you understand its contents. In particular, you should read the section on wise template editing and the criteria for revocation.

You can use this user right to perform maintenance, answer edit requests, and make any other simple and generally uncontroversial edits to templates, modules, and edinotices. You can also use it to enact more complex or controversial edits, after those edits are first made to a test sandbox, and their technical reliability as well as their consensus among other informed editors has been established. If you are willing to process edit requests on templates and modules, keep in mind that you are taking responsibility to ensure the edits have consensus and are technically sound.

This user right gives you access to some of Wikipedia's most important templates and modules; it is critical that you edit them wisely and that you only make edits that are backed up by consensus. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Rollback granted

Hi GeoffreyT2000. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Biblio (talk) WikiProject Reforming Wikipedia. 01:28, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

MikhaY/Ilovsky theatre

I wonder what might be the reason for moving the article back to the MikhaYlovsky, if the theatre itself, international press, and the academic sources refer to it as the Mikha-I-lovsky? I will be most happy to get to know what you think, so we might agree on the best way forward.

UNPROD Dialling (telephony)

This is not within my focus at the moment- but there is huge potential. I have done a little on Strowger- and given some rich references- do you fancy getting involved- there is the whole nerdy field of touch tone frequencies, dialing pad layout- the 1950 three letter dialing codes (different mappings in US, Europe and UK). --ClemRutter (talk) 09:24, 11 August 2016 (UTC)

Localisation of modules

Hello,

you had the audacity of reverting one of my perfectly crafted edits. Let me explain why this was foolish. </irony>

We could use a different construction than the one given above, and what you changed would be right. This is, we could make a module into an   module by defining

 .

But even this would first require the notion of a ring of fractions (although this wouldn't be a particular obstruction). The point is, as it is right now, we don't even have defined a multiplication on the given object, for we only have a multiplication

 ,

where   now is the module defined from R as an R-module as in the first section of the article. At most, the underlying sets are equal, but we don't get a ring structure. --Mathmensch (talk) 05:41, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi GeoffreyT2000, Thank you for reviewing, accepting and cleaning the article Allan J. Stitt. I appreciate. Round robin and subpage

Regarding this move.

Generally, it's preferred to keep redirects of moved talks/talk subpages per WP:PMVR#rr step 4, the second/third bullet points. (Image to the right about the scenario (second diagram)).

Though I'd agree there's legitimate reason this particular redirect was suppressed, because the purpose of its root talk page changed, and now redirects to the dab talk. On the other hand, there are incoming links to that now redlinked talk subpage, so I'm personally unsure what is the best approach. I personally would have kept the redirect to avoid the link breaks. Anyway, not expecting a reply, just an FYI.

It wasn't exactly a swap, but ...along similar lines :) — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 18:04, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Hi GeoffreyT2000. Thought I'd do a quick followup and plug a new script I wrote that semi-automates the round-robin process. The script is here (js). Essentially, you'd simply click "Swap" and enter a page destination, the script performs the 3 moves as necessary (saves time having to manually go through the move form 3 times). (It doesn't correct redirects afterwards, that's still manual)
Anyway feel free to adapt this script as you see fit, cheers :) — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 02:25, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Luris and Lurs

Is there really no connection? How can one discern لوری from لور as different any more than one can discern کوردی from کورد ? Aren't their etymologies synonymous, just as Parsis (in India, that is) are to Persians or Iranis (in India) are to Iranians? Please explain the difference to me.

Grand Duke or Monarchy of Luxembourg

Greetings GeoffreyT2000. You recently moved Grand Duke of Luxembourg to Monarchy of Luxembourg although I don't see a clear consensus emerging from the discussion, especially taking into consideration the repeated move requests that were opposed earlier this year. I would suggest a relisting of the discussion to gather further input. — JFG talk 16:54, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Deletion of the Waitlist Management page

Hi there GeoffreyT2000,

I see that you've proposed the Waitlist Management page for deletion because of notability requirements. However, there are a lot of independent sources that discuss strategies and methods for waitlist management and this field is becoming one of increasing concern for both academics and urban businesses. Some of these sources include;

http://streetfightmag.com/2014/06/17/6-waitlist-management-tools-for-restaurants/

http://scholarship.sha.cornell.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1415&context=articles

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2875898/

I wanted to write a page about waitlist management particularly because it's becoming an increasingly notable area of concern but doesn't have much light shed on it yet, and a Wiki page for it that connects multiple credible sources on the topic could become a growing center of information on the topic. Would it be possible to bring the page back under the pretense that I would revise it and incorporate sources that establish the topic's notability?

Deletion of MacroGeo

Dear Geoffrey hope you are well. I am really sorry for the deletion of the MacroGeo article but I must accept that your arguments stand. Thanks for reviewing my article on CAPE-OPEN. I wish to improve it based on your comments but wanted to clarify your feedback. Is there a problem with the references already quoted or is there a need for more references for the article. I thought the latter case but wanted to clarify.

@StenhoBJ: You need to know the URL of the online sources and use citation templates where appropriate. Offline sources need an ISBN. Until you address these issues, I will not accept the draft. GeoffreyT2000 (talk, contribs) 14:43, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi, When closing AFDs you need to make sure they're the full 7 days, On quite a few you've closed them at around 9-10pm (UK time) when in those 2/3 hours someone could've !voted delete,
I'm not a bureaucratic person so I'm not gonna sit here and tell you you need to close them bang on when they were nominated (which actually we are supposed to do) however I would ask infuture you close them at perhaps around 12-1pm if you're in the UK (Go to AFD and click "closing" if that's easier),
You can be blocked for closing AFDs earlier even if it's a whole 1 hour!,

Please help

Hi. I did a mistake and used "cut-paste" method to move two articles, because I thought it would preserve revision history jut like typical move process. I've explained my mistake (see [2] and [3]). I saw that you have fixed one of them. would you please fix Talk:Muhammad of Ghor too (the name is fixed but it needs to restore revision history)? Unfortunately, I was on a rush to restore original/sourced name of those articles and I edited those articles carelessly. Those edits disappointed myself too, because I see my carelessness caused a lot of errors. --Wario-Man (talk) 06:54, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

@Wario-Man: I have now requested a history merge of Talk:Muhammad of Gaur into Talk:Muhammad of Ghor in Special:Diff/749558201. Since you are a page mover, you should probably use Andy M. Wang's page swap script for doing round-robin moves. GeoffreyT2000 (talk, contribs) 01:30, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

User group: New Page Reviewr

Hello GTrang.

Based on the patrols you made of new pages during a qualifying period in 2016, your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed.

New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:34, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter

Hello GTrang,

Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 816 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.

Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.
