TV Logos

Thanks for uploading all of the TV station logos that you have been. A logo changes a ho-hum article into a decent one. If you would do one additional thing when you upload these images, it would help out the project. If you would change the copyright image tag after you upload them from {{logo}} to {{tv-logo}} it will help us be able to identify all TV station logos currently uploaded to wikipedia. Please do not upload images in the GIF format

Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you've uploaded a number of images in the GIF format. In the future, please save GIF images in the PNG format before converting (see Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload). PNG images almost always have a smaller file size, which decreases the amount of time they take to load. "HD descript in infobox"

Adding HDTV to the infoboxes of TV station articles is redundant and unnecessary. Please refrain from adding this to further articles. Rollosmokes 09:09, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

I was just simply adding HDTV descriptions in infoboxes reasonably. It was not intended in any way to be what you call "redundant and unneccessary" but it was done for simpler reasons in some cases. Take for instance: some folks don't feel like having to scroll down the TV station articles to look for the HDTV description (mostly in local news sections of the article), so the infobox link simplifies it as well. Other TV station articles for other cities have this as well, so it doesn't make much difference on redundancy regardless.

The fact that there is already a link to Digital television next to where you placed your HDTV link makes it redundant. Hence, it really shouldn't be there. Rollosmokes 09:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Please read WP:NALBUMS. An album is not notable just because it was released. It must have some sort of recognition in third-party sources. The reviews from allmusic you added are good examples. I was confused by the difference at first as well, but I think it is because the number-one albums categories were caught early in the process while the singles categories were not and were allowed to continue unchecked. So now, we have dozens of number-one songs categories that are so engrained that it will be impossible to get them deleted without it being an issue for a lot of people, while the albums categories have achieved consensus that lists are better. In a way, it makes sense, because most albums typically debut at number one and then fall off the charts, almost a different album every week, thus making it to number one on the albums chart is not really a big deal. --Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 15:02, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Problems with your new New Orleans streetcar line articles

Hi, I just ran across your new articles on the individual streetcar lines in New Orleans. I don't know if we really need them. You have copied much content from the older articles such as Streetcars In New Orleans -- do we really need the redundancy? But for now, I'll jump past that thought and make some content suggestions.

In the overview boxes, you have "Electrification catenary". This is incorrect. Catenary is an overhead structure with a support strand above a parallel contact wire. A good example is on the Chicago South Shore line, or the Cleveland RTA Red Line. New Orleans uses "simple trolley wire", which is not correctly called catenary.

You also have "Owner City of New Orleans". I won't swear to it, but I don't think this is correct. The owner is New Orleans RTA, which is distinct from the city government.

Also, the track gauge is listed as standard. This is incorrect. It should be listed as 5' 2 1/2" for all four routes.

In the St. Charles article, stop list, Willow Street, check the rightmost column, seems to be an incomplete thought there.

Riverfront article, "From the time it opened in 1998", date should be 1988.

Some of this, I would just enter corrections, but I don't want to get in the way of your work on these new articles.

Former logo of radio station KAMA-FM when operating under callsign KPTY. No longer serving the purpose specified in its rationale (not helping the reader identify the organization, nor assuring readers that they have reached the right article). Current use is WP:DECORATIVE. Has been replaced in the infobox by the station's new logo.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
