Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! I notice you don't have any e-mail set up for your Wikipedia account. There's no requirement for you to do so, at all, although if you do choose to set one up it'd be good practice re your privacy to do so using a newly-created generic freemail account via Gmail, Yahoo, etc. that's not associated with your personal identity in any way. ( You might also like to look briefly at these essays re security and privacy on Wikipedia.) I mention e-mail because I had a suggestion I wanted to offer, and it's mildly confidential (although not remotely personal, of course) whereas anything entered on a user page is very decidedly public. You can enable e-mail by reading the instructions here, and it just takes a few moments. If you do choose to set up your e-mail facility, would you let me know below, please? I've put this talk page temporarily on my watchlist, so I won't miss any reply you post below. Btw, perhaps I should say that I'm just another would-be helpful user, here. This is in no way any kind of "official" request, in other words, and you're entirely free to ignore it. Again, welcome to Wikipedia, and happy editing!  – OhioStandard (talk) 12:09, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Thank you for the advice...I added my email and I appreciate the help! Have a great day.

Public Policy Article

edit

Hey Emily, could you possibly email me via the "Email this User" link on my talk page, and let me know what you were considering in regards to addition of material to the article. I think that is a great idea and I'm curious to what you would like to add.

Just an FYI, you can actually hyperlink articles by adding brackets at the beginning and end of the article name. For example, to link Excessive bail like I just did, you write [[Excessive bail]] which allows users to click on the word and go directly to the article.

One other helpful hint is when posting on my talk page, start a new section. You can do this by one of two ways. One is by clicking "New Section" at the top of my talk page, or two is like this:

==Insert Subject here==
Blah blah blah

I'll be teaching you more "wiki tricks" later. Good luck this Semester! Dusti*poke* 00:39, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ambassador information

edit

Hi Fuerstem! Just a follow up to see how you're faring with the Ambassador program and your workload? A quick request.. I've got to tag your userpage with some information, so could you provide me with the Project you're working with and the class? Thanks! Dusti*poke* 06:02, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mentoring

edit

Hi there, Sross contacted me and asked me to take Dusti's place mentoring you (he has apparently permanently retired). It looks like Cindy Allen is your professor and that this page says that you're working on excessive bail? Have you edited Wikipedia before this? It would be extra work for you, but you may step through my Adoption courses if you'd like -- they are a fairly comprehensive overview of how things work. You can find them at User:Banaticus/Adoption if you're interested. If you'd like any further help, contact me on my user talk page or put a {{help me}} template up on your own user talk page and someone will be along to help you. :) Banaticus (talk) 01:38, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Fuerstem. You have new messages at Banaticus's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Generally, message templates (like a prose warning) aren't removed unless a change has happened to the article (they aren't taken off until there's no reason to have it anymore). If you'd like any further help, contact me on my user talk page or put a {{help me}} template up on your own user talk page and someone will be along to help you. :) Banaticus (talk) 19:07, 22 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors

The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their September 2011 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy editing backlog. The drive will begin on September 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on September 30 at 23:59 (UTC). We will be tracking the number of 2010 articles in the backlog, as we want to copy edit as many of those as possible. Please consider copy editing an article that was tagged in 2010. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". See you at the drive! – Your drive coordinators: Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02, and SMasters.
