Reliable sources edit

Hi there, if you plan to edit Indian film articles, you should first become familiar with our guidelines on reliable sources, our guidelines on user-generated content and WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources, which is specific to Indian film articles. Anyone in the world can start a blog or a website and print whatever they want. That doesn't mean that we, as Wikipedia editors, blindly regurgitate that content. We're only interested in what reliable published sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy have to say about anything. Unless you are prepared to argue that you know who's behind 143cinema.com and that you're willing to assert that they are a reliable mainstream source, you shouldn't be using their data at Wikipedia. Or any poor source, for that matter. If you have questions, feel free to ask. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:33, 17 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Well...sure! But 2003 film Simhadri actually collected less than Tagore(film) in the list of Top grossers by years. If you follow the reference link, you will be surprised to see Tagore is bigger than Simhadri. So the link title is misleading. Please consider my edit. Thank you. I was not sure about 143cinema.com, so I will not publish it. Thank you.

Not constructive edit

Hi there, this edit was not constructive. There is an obvious disparity between the various sources estimates. You don't get to unilaterally decide that one source's estimate is inaccurate in favor of the higher estimate. What you should have done was open a discussion on the article's talk page, but there is already a discussion about this at Talk:List of highest-grossing Indian films#Attarintiki Daredi box office. Hi, The following comment was shown in our wiki page... "There is no official tracking of figures and sites publishing data are frequently pressured to increase their estimates." Therefore I have chosen the higher estimate 187 cr as the one to be included in table... There are many sources on other films as well which show lower estimates. So please display the highest estimate which is from credible source. Range must not be shown as it will force conflicts with all other films in the topic... For example Srimanthudu records only 144.5 cr according to IBT and 200 cr by business standard... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Freewebstennis (talkcontribs)

The place to discuss this is at Talk:List of highest-grossing Indian films#Attarintiki Daredi box office. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:49, 9 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Rangasthalam edit

Please STOP adding a rumour to the gross figure for Rangasthalam - we stick to the most recent specific figures - thank you - Arjayay (talk) 11:37, 20 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

RRR edit

Hello, Freewebstennis. The other sources aren't that old, just days apart. They cannot be disregard them based on their date alone. If you feel strongly about this, please open a discussion at Talk:RRR (film) and seek WP:CONSENSUS for your change. Thanks and regards -- Ab207 (talk) 04:58, 25 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Box office personal opinion by ab207 edit

Hey Ab207 don't revert to 1150 cr and tell it couldn't have made 1200 cr. Wikipedia is not a website for personal opinion. It was published by Times of India, a legitimate news media. Freewebstennis (talk) 06:00, 1 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Freewebstennis. It's more of common sense than personal opinion. Anyway, I opened a discussion at Talk:RRR_(film)#Final_box_office where you can participate. Thanks -- Ab207 (talk) 06:39, 1 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
