As there have been some messages about the page not being constructed neutral enough I would like to ask for help. Ping Fu (again)

Hi FreeRangeFrog, it's been a little while since you helped me on the Ping Fu article and I was wondering if you'd be able to lend a hand there again? Back at the end of May, I proposed a more detailed introduction and updated version of the article's infobox for editors on Ping's page to take a look at (see request here). One editor was happy with what I'd suggested and the only critical comment was from an editor questioning her job title at her new company, which I've since been able to provide a very clear source for. Although no-one has objected and I think the updates would be an improvement, I've not had any luck from asking if anyone there would make the changes in the article. Would you mind taking a quick look and moving the drafted updates live if you're happy to do so? FreeRangeFrog, I noticed that you take care about keeping standards of BLP. So please explain me why English Wikipedia tolerates biased cricicism secion about Ewa and Władysław Siemaszko? There are only negative opinions quoted (positive have been silenced), some of them from doubious sources like Yaroslav Tsaruk (who is mentioned as "historian" but he is not historian at all, but the etnographer; in the citations I did in the talk page of Volodymyr Viatrovych, you can find very negative opinion on Tsaruk by professor Partacz). @JohnCD: Thank you for the heads up! Like I mentioned in the talk page, Dstrob had created this in their userpage and asked for help to "change the title", so I assisted in creating the article, reminded him of his COI, clarified the article could not be an advertisement for his book, etc. I figured it was a worthy historical topic, but never really looked into it much. Regarding Yelena Mizulina page

Hi I am a newbie and am perhaps a bit confused. You mention that the refs are in Russian and that this is somehow bad- indeed I cannot find much information on the Internet concerning this person in English. In light of the recent controversy, I feel that it may be important to for people to be aware of the fact that there are more politicians in Russia than its president. As I pointed out in the article Mrs. Mizulina is a VERY controversial public figure and I felt that it was important for people outside of the Russian-speaking world to be aware pf the different personalities involved in the debate surronding several of the controversies that she has been involved in, of which I have mentioned the main ones. Please indicate what you find excessive. The infromation I mention has made headlines in Russia. The policy on biographies is also important reading here, as well as the policy on conflict of interest. Bottom line is, you probably shouldn't be editing this article at all. The fact is that from the beginning, when I created the article, the marital status was there for three years. Now you started to edit the article even after giving you enough links to prove marital status. Still you revert the article by hiding the fact Deepa is married to me, I think you have some personal interest in this matter. This will affect the credibility of encyclopedia. Most of the people depending on the information provided by Wikipedia and trust it. By the action your kind of editors, without knowing the fact directly, will lead to misunderstandings. Fort Augustus Abbey comment

Hi. You removed an edit of mine from the Fort Augustus Abbey because it was unsourced. Wasn't it clear that my edit was itself addressing the *lack* of sufficient sourcing for the rest of that section? The section contains the statement "The allegations included ... sexual abuse". My intent was not to say that that statement was false, but rather that it wasn't sufficiently sourced to be included. By asking me four a source, you are effectively looking for me to provide a *negative* source -- i.e. a source that shows the other statement was unsourced! Or, put another more convoluted way, can *you* provide a source to show that my statement -- itself intended to balance an insufficiently sourced statement -- is itself insufficiently sourced? I won't challenge this any further, and I won't myself re-insert my edit. However, if the above: a. makes sense, and b. is convincing, you could perhaps reverting your revert? question about boxing articles

I've tried adding a boxing article but it seems like there's little to no impetus for boxing fans to help write wikipedia boxing articles, especially for 2nd-tier and 3rd-tier boxers. Not only that, but boxing articles seem to be written (and dominated by) boxing enthusiasts who are pressing for a particular point to be made or advocated. In your opinion (of someone with no particular enthusiasm for boxing) are boxers inherently notable the same way as, let's say, baseball players? (every single 2013 MLB player has a wikipedia page) Any boxer who has made a name for himself is notable imho. It is extraordinarily difficult to train, grow, and develop a fighter's skills due to the vagueness & complexity of the sport; yet, boxers who have a non-meteoric career seem to inherently have no belonging here on Wikipedia. Boxing fans don't care about putting in "mediocre" boxers (who are stellarly gifted and extraordinarily athletic in their own right) because the way boxing is presented to the public is highly correlated to the way the general populace presents boxing to the readers of Wikipedia. Until boxing fans realize they are being sold a "product" based on coverage bias, they will fail to give more than passing mention to 2nd and 3rd-tier boxers, sadly. Just curious, is it frowned upon to make 10-20 stub articles and leave them after just 2-5 sentences? I feel bad because it feels like i'm gaming the system if I just toss a few bones to assert their notability and nothing thereafter. For the same effort I could create one well written article than 10-20 stubs but I'm soured by that which is beyond my low investment hurdle of minimal effort. Should I create a couple more measly stub articles and go from there? Or should I seek feedback first on the wikiproject rather than asking an admin? Wikipedia has a daunting amount of "help articles" which seemed geared for serious editors rather than casual, small-scale editors like myself. I've restored most of the material you deleted from Andy Vollmer because you seem to have some basic misunderstanding of what WP:OR is and when WP:PRIMARY sources are appropriate and when they are not. In this case, quoting directly from the WP:PRIMARY source when the citation is that someone said something is highly reliable. Interpretations of the primary source require secondary sources as do personal details. You deleted a direct quote from the transcript, not any interpretation of it.

However, I have provided additional secondary sources because that paragraph does do some interpretation (which you left!).

No, a transcript is by definition a primary source, and extracting a negative quote from there is POV at best, OR on a good day. In that same transcript there's a claim by another one of the SEC employees basically telling the congressmen that they were responsible for the problem, since it was Congress who enacted the deregulation that allegedly ended up creating the situation where Maddoff could get away with what he did. And that seems to me a perfectly valid point, no less valid than some congressman's (who for all I know is trying to look good to his constituents) claim that the SEC and its employees are worthless. But now we're into interpretation of the source, right? Which is inappropriate to begin with. Nope, I removed weakly sourced negative information from a BLP, in line with policy - which says we're supposed to now discuss it before it is reinstated. Very far from 'disruptive editing'. If I'd reverted again then maybe there would be a case for that, but I haven't.

I hope you might investigate it a bit further. At first glance, it might seem like something worthy of inclusion with those newsworthy-sounding sites but, they're not news articles, they're blogs - and they're the blogs of people who have frequently expressed a great disliking for the person in question. The newspapers themselves have not covered this quite frivolous accusation. I have been a close personal friend of Kristine Weitz for many years and I can vouch that her birth date is definitely June 3rd,1963. I have traveled with her abroad and have seen her passport. Also you might want to consider logically, if she won the pageant in 1981 (as stated and shown in the photo link) then she would have to have been at least 18 years old of age in 1981.

I find no reason as to why you are constantly removing accurate information. I'd be happy to provide proof, however just about every site that refers to a census costs money.

If you can be kind enough to point me to the right direction for finding a free site that includes census and/or birth records I would be happy to include some kind of linked proof.

The standard modus operandi for biographies when a secondary source cannot be procured that can support personal details such as a date of birth is to exclude that completely from the article. That includes what we call "primary sources", of which census information would be a good example. You can read the policy here. And while I don't doubt your sincerity, we also don't allow personal recollections or knowledge, because information must be verifiable. That's why we don't have a DOB in that article, and many more in Wikipedia. If you produce a reliable source that provides the date then we would have no problem whatsoever with including it. I added the tag because there is a lot of content there that is not supported by citations. Please see WP:CITE. The "potentially libelous" part is not necessarily the case, it's just the wording on the tag. Just make sure that all the material there is correctly cited. Remember that anyone is free to challenge and remove any unsourced material from any article, and that's especially true for biographies. The last part of the third paragraph in the intro lacks a supporting citation, which is required when claiming someone is "controversial". Almost the entire "Early life" section lacks citations, A note like Early life off-line information are gathered from relatives, friends, journalists and some municipal corporation offices and other private and public sources. is not acceptable as a reference, you're essentially just accepting you don't have sources for the material, in which case I'd just as soon remove the entire section. re Shannon Leto entry

Hi, thanks for your message re my edit on the Shannon Leto entry. I have reason to doubt that Shannon and Jared Leto's birth name is Bryant - hence my qualification of the original entry which cited the birthname of Bryant. The attribution derives from an entry for Constance Metrejon on Ancestry.com, although the link cited actually points to someone's blog. I won't bore you with my easons for doubting that this is the correct Constance Metrejon (unless you want me to), but would you be able to edit the entry for Jared Leto to remove the statement that his birthname is Bryant? I don't have permission to do so.

The second part of my edit was to do with the surname Leto. I may not have written it in an acceptable style, but the link I provided was to Melissa Lafsky's statement that Jared and Shannon Leto are her step-brothers. Admittedly it is quoted in someone's blog, but if this isn't an acceptable source for a statement, I don't really see what is, especially if the result of someone's personal research posted in a blog is acceptable. @Jarrit29: Thanks for your message. My problem with the material was the reliability of the source. For example, I keyed in the mother's name plus "Bryant" and one site supposedly showing Texas marriage records popped up with something that might support the Polish site's assertion, but nothing in the way of more mainstream sources. That worries me because I would think that if this is factual information regarding the Leto brothers there would be quite a few more sources covering it. Remember that for BLPs we look for better sources than we'd want in other types of articles. All this might very well be true, but we can't rely on marriage records, and ancestry.com is generally eschewed as a source for these types of things. As to statements by other people, imagine if we covered everything that everyone said about notable persons. If someone is claiming to be their step sister that's fine, but we need evidence of secondary coverage of those claims in order for it to be included in the article(s). The End Of Grace

I'm sorry, I confess I didn't read the criteria regarding whether or not a band should have its own article on Wikipedia. I've always thought that an encyclopedia was a complete compendium, that it didn't regard the importance of the subject, just its existence. As The End Of Grace has published one work which is on sale on iTunes and CDON.com, meaning they're not some unplubished garage band, I truly thought that was enough to create a page about them. Also as webzines are more and more popular nowadays, I thought the articles in the British Valkyrian Music and the Swedish Rockbladet would corroborate the history of the band that I submitted. Should I try again when they release the full-length album? Or should I try and post it in Swedish in the Swedish Wikipedia, as I've noticed they have many articles about small national bands that haven't a correspondent article in English? Like Seventribe, for instance, with whom The End Of Grace are precisely to tour with next year? Thank you in advance for your time.

@Pieni156: No, there are two basic thresholds for inclusion. First, the initial article must assert a minimal claim of importance. That was not present in your submission, which is why it was "speedily" deleted. I was merely asking if the concern with the material is because the wife was 16 when she got married, which is not "defamatory" because that is the likely age of consent wherever they got married - and even if it wasn't, discussing an issue is not defamatory per se. Next time we get a bio where the subject is accused of sexual assault (which happens every other day), should we write in code so we don't defame the subject? @Judgerc: You add the references when you add the material, please. More importantly, you seem to have a conflict of interest here, so your edits must be especially clear. You removed information that seems negative and was correctly sourced. You are free to improve the article, but please use the talk page to requests those types of changes, or don't do them at all. Check out an article?

I saw that you were somewhat involved with the article Scott Neitlich in its previous incarnation, where the editor pretty much blanked the page. Long story short, the editor was sort of spamming for the guy's website. Maybe intentionally, maybe unintentionally, but the edits for some of his deleted articles were pretty bad. He's temporarily blocked for this (initially permanent but gave him the benefit of the doubt) and I'm trying to see if this guy would pass notability guidelines. He's got an assertion to it and I can see where he's mentioned in places, but I don't see anything that's really in-depth. Most of it is mentions of website exclusives for his company, but there are some interviews with him in places that don't really seem to pass our RS guidelines. I've asked the comic WP to take a look, but I'm still really unsure of this guy's notability. I trust your opinion, so I thought I'd ask you to take a look. @Tokyogirl79: I would say the subject is just below or barely above what I'd consider to pass GNG at this point, honestly. Given what I found in Google and what's on the article, were it land at AFD I couldn't say which way the consensus would go. • That was kind of my opinion as well- it's the type of thing that I'd maybe argue a weak keep for at best. I think that the niche coverage is pretty much the reason for the lack of RS. Any idea of where we could redirect this to? I don't think his website is really notable enough to warrant its own article and I don't think that we have a "list of Mattel employees" section anywhere to redirect to either. NIAMA-REISSER Technology Article Help

Hello there. I would kindly like to ask you to read the article in its entirety and give three examples of advertisement in the article. I have edited the article more than four times now. One admin undeleted the article once before, but Trivialista and Tokyogirl, etc. other users believe it still to be advertisement. The Columbus Dispatch wrote an article about it. The C. Dispatch is the biggest Newspaper in Ohio and the article was on the cover. The company was in TV broadcasts, where reporters reported about the tech, etc. The company showcased their products at a booth at the geneva auto convention in Switzerland. The Article was written in a way to show how the technology works. To my knowledge there is no sentence or phrase contained within the body of the article that coould allure advertisement. Regardless, maybe you can help me and point out the sentences that would deem it so, if there are any. I am new to wiki and haven't contributed anything other than the article. There are many articles like HuettlinKugelmotor, EcoMotors, FelixWankel that are written in the same fashion and style. I believe to get singled out here. Maybe you can help. Your article has been deleted at least five times now - that should be a hint that you're doing something wrong here. It reads as either an advertisement or a product catalog, which is not acceptable for Wikipedia. The best advise I can give you is to go through this guide, and use the Articles for Creation service as you did originally to avoid having your live article from being deleted repeatedly. Thanks so much for the help. I've been very sad and frustrated. To begin with, Cassi Arnaz works with me. I am not her relative. I have no gain in her being recognized but that's no longer an issue as her family has accepted her, they are speaking with each other regularly and they recently all met in Miami so that's no longer an issue (they don't care if wiki accepts my edits or not and frankly neither do I). It was more important that the family acknowledge one another which they have.

Now here's another matter totally unrelated... I wrote and copyrighted the lyrics to Danny Boy in Spanish and I was not allowed to post that either. I'm concerned that everything I try to post will be refused. How does one post information about the Danny Boy song? I see whole pages about Danny Boy in wikipedia. Why can't my information accompany it?

I am not being flip - I truly want to learn how to use wikipedia effectively because it seems that whatever I post, get's taken down. I work in a news show. We interview actors, singers and politicians. I can't help it if they're notable people. Am I to be punished every time I interview a celebrity? It's not my fault.

Assuming transliterated Spanish lyrics were on-topic for the English Wikipedia (and that would be debatable), you specifically claimed to hold a copyright over them, which makes them automatically inappropriate here. Hi, re this observation, G13 undeletion requests are like PRODs - done automatically, no reason required, unless there is an overriding counter-reason like coyvio or attack. We welcome everyone who is here to build an encyclopedia - if you're here to document your life then I'd suggest you do that elsewhere. Her "real" name is Erika Ervin, who is listed as part of the cast of the documentary ([3]). Now, the issue of whether IMDb is reliable is another issue, but generally it's reliable for films that have already been released. It's not reliable for biographical material and upcoming films. If you're looking for a more reliable source, I think you'll have trouble finding one, partly because it's not a noteworthy film and partly because AE is not that notable a person. I'm concerned about how that is sourced though - there's an article in a magazine attributed to one "Erika Ervin" that states she is transgendered, but none of the other sources actually say "Amazon Eve, whose real name is Erika Ervin, is a transgendered etc etc". I do think Anita Kelsey is a public figure of interest and it would be interesting to some people as to what she is up to now having 'vanished' from the music scene.
