Re: edit

Okay, I'll be sure to do that next time. I'll go back and add info on the talk(s) for what it is outdated. Thanks. VoodooIsland (talk) 23:45, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Map Updates edit

Hi, I always enjoy your updates of the same-sex marriage map, and I have my own small map as well. However, I'm very much an amateur at Wikipedia. So I was wondering if you could answer a question whenever you get time and feel up for it: how the heck do you actually update a map? (e.g. changing it so that different parts are highlighted and whatnot- I have it changed on my computer file, but don't know what to do now). Any help would be appreciated since I can't find the right answer to my dilemma on here. Thanks Yankhill (talk) 04:10, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

You need a text editor, like notepad. Then you open up the .svg file as if it were any text (.txt) file. There you will see that there is a list of definitions, which map out colors like "constitutionbanmore" to #990000, which is a red web color. Scroll down to the place where you see things like <use id="CA" xlink:href="#Striped-similar-constitution. Change that part in between the quotes to "#Solid-marriage" and it will be a solid blue. Or you can change "marriage" so that it's a green color with the appropriate web color. Niew (talk) 04:58, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Help w/ U.S. marijuana maps edit

Hi there! I notice you contribute to and discuss the same-sex marriage map of the United States. I am continually impressed with how up-to-date that map remains, and how much activity the talk page receives. I am finding it difficult to keep the three U.S. maps relating to marijuana found here up to date, so I was wondering if you might take a look and perhaps even add the images to your watchlist. I tried updating this one over at Commons, but the image has not updated yet (see NJ here). I am not sure if you have an interest in the legal status of cannabis or not, but I could sure use some help with keep the maps current. If interested, take a look! Thanks! --Another Believer (Talk) 18:55, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
