Welcome!

Hey, Footballfiji, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. I hope you like the site and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful (some of them may sound stupid, but I recommend you check them out):

While editing, please remember:

You should introduce yourself here at the new user log. I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name, the date, and the time.

For your first edits, I suggest searching for articles that you think might interest you. You could also be audacious and try a random page.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place helpme on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome and happy editing! Cbrown1023 01:40, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your Auburn Tigers football team articles edit

If I could make a suggestion, I would suggest that you merge most of the articles into one article. You could write an article with something like "history of Auburn football", then add the statistics to it. I hope this helps. -Patstuart(talk)(contribs) 01:46, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

:{} edit

A tag has been placed on :{}, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. If you can indicate why {} is really not blatant advertising, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:{}. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11 under General criteria. You might also want to read the guidelines on spam. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert why the article is not blatant advertising, please affix the template hangon to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. Mkdw 02:25, 24 October 2006 (UTC) Creating several relatively empty articles about a team's record without merging them into a single article makes Wikipedia crowded and its pointless.Reply

As was stated by User:Patstuart to comply with Wikipedia standards, those pages fail Wikipedia's policy about notable articles receiving their own articles rather than all being compiled into a single article. It's up to you, but I almost guarentee they will be delete. How much work you lose is up to you. Mkdw 02:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Noted. I will start to compile.Footballfiji 02:46, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I apologize if we seem a little heavy-handed on the issue. We do want the information you could contribute to Wikipedia; but if it gets too spread out, then it becomes something known as fancruft. This occurs when people who are interested in a subject make endless articles about it (e.g., making individual articles about every single character in what, in all truth, is probably a very minor author). But please stay long and contribute much. We thank you for your additions. -Patstuart(talk)(contribs) 02:48, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

First, welcome to Wikipedia! On the subject of football seasons, please take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject College football and the discussion on the talk page there regarding historic team seasons. The consensus is that only outstanding historical seasons should be deserving of its own article, with the bulk of historic seasons being covered in an article under the head coach for that season such as Auburn Tigers football under Doug Barfield. I do applaud your initiative where I assume you saw the red links in the AU Seasons template and made an effort to help fill those voids. Don't let the other comments here prevent you contributing; those of us working on CF articles welcome all the help with what is relatively new WikiProject. Hi there - Just add a little advise to that given above. When creating these articles please can you try and do two things (which wont take you much time, but are very labour intensive after the fact). 1. Put in a short statement in the overview about what this team is - The 1902 Auburn Tigers football team ... and put the article in the category Auburn Tigers football.
e.g. see 1902 Auburn Tigers football team Lethaniol 12:06, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

1906 Auburn Tigers football team edit

Another editor has added the "prod" template to the article 1906 Auburn Tigers football team, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the prod template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of 1906 Auburn Tigers football team edit

An editor has nominated 1906 Auburn Tigers football team, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/1906 Auburn Tigers football team and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:59, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
