Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Lee Evans (Welsh footballer) edit

Hello Five Mile Walk. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Lee Evans (Welsh footballer)".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 10:00, 16 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dicko edit

'africansoccer.weebly.com' is not a reliable source, please do not re-introduce the content without finding a better, reliable source. GiantSnowman 11:08, 4 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Have you actually read WP:RS? GiantSnowman 11:50, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes, and I don't see anything relevant. Answer my questions please. Five Mile Walk (talk) 11:59, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Because the website is basically a glorified blog, on a standard web hosting site. Who is writing this information? Where has it come from? Where is the editorial oversight? WP:SPS goes into this further. GiantSnowman 12:23, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Of course it's not a glorified blog. It gives massive coverage and lots of continuous information. It is used on other pages on wikipedia. The Nouha Dicko page now makes no sense whatsoever. You do not own Wikipedia. Who do I complain to?
Please answer my questions - who is writing this information? Where has it come from? Where is the editorial oversight? Furthermore, where does it actually verify the information you are trying to enter, namely that Dicko made his debut in that game? Luckily another user has managed to find an alternative source which is actually reliable and actually confirms it was his first game. GiantSnowman 17:16, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
My edit was an improvement over what was there. The information there now is slightly less true and less well presented than my edit made it. If you didn't like the source, you could have tagged it rather than arrogantly remove the improvement. The site I used as a source is respected, and followed on twitter by senior figures and football clubs; it is also used as a source by several pages on wikipedia. This argument you have now come up with about it not being clear that Dicko was making his début is nonsense: he only has two matches so far, and they are both on that site and both easily found. Your edits actually made the final line of the section completely nonsensical for several hours. I came here to edit wikipedia and try to improve the information, not to be treated with arrogance by a clot. My edit was an improvement; your decision to remove it was not driven by a wish to improve the information on the site. Dicko is a striker at Wolves now. If you want to leave winger there at all, it needs to go after striker. Where Mali play him is another matter. If they want the best out of him they'll put him through the middle with Sako to his left.
Firstly the WP:BURDEN is on you introducing the material to find an appropriate source to support it, not me. Secondly he is a winger, see this amongst others. Thirdly please remain WP:CIVIL and do not lower yourself with childish insults. GiantSnowman 19:57, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
The very link you give advises that material should be tagged rather than simply removed. You should take this on board. Your burden is to tag, rather than remove. Nouha Dicko joined Wolves on loan as primarily a winger, and didn't do particularly well. He returned to Wigan and in a subsequent loan at Rotherham did well as a striker. Since Wolves signed him permanently he has been used primarily as a striker. He is a striker for Wolverhampton Wanderers. Whether winger should be there too is debatable, but putting winger first is simply wrong. He has not scored all those goals from the wing. Wikipedia is currently carrying imprecise information because of your edits. If you think my behaviour is childish, you might examine your own. Simply removing people's edits is not civil. Contemptuous comments of "Have you actually read WP:RS?" are not civil. You need to stop removing edits without giving editors the chance to argue their case or improve citations. That is what WP:BURDEN actually advises. It even encourages you to attempt to improve citations yourself before you remove or tag material. Five Mile Walk (talk) 11:19, 6 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Not per WP:BLP, which you seem depressingly ignorant of. "Whether winger should be there too is debatable" - why? I have provided a reliable source which describes him as a winger! "putting winger first is simply wrong" - why? His primary position is described by NFT as being "right winger", with 'other positions' as "centre forward, left winger." What reliable sources are you using to justify your comments? Or is it just personal preference? GiantSnowman 11:26, 6 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
