Welcome! edit

Hello, FamilySing01, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was FamilySing Entertainment, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 16:30, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of FamilySing Entertainment edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on FamilySing Entertainment requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. —C.Fred (talk) 16:30, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

May 2016 edit

Hello, I'm NinjaRobotPirate. I noticed that you made a change to an article, The Water Diviner, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please do not remove reliably sourced information from articles or change sourced content. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 23:44, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of The People v. Guy Martin edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The People v. Guy Martin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

GILO   A&E 21:12, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your username edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "FamilySing01", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you.  GILO   A&E 21:13, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines for books or companies. . Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to you, social media, YouTube and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what you claim. One of your articles was only referenced to a YouTube page, the other just has a link to a sales site. Neither article gave any indication of how the notability criteria were being met
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. You are just posting links to your work, including one to a sales site
  • There is little about your company other what it does. To show notability you need hard verifiable facts such as the number of employees, turnover or profits.
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest when editing this article. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest, WP:Autobiography and WP:Civil.
  • Your user name is the name of a company, which is not permitted. I will shortly block this account Jimfbleak - talk to me? 20:02, 31 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 20:02, 31 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:The People v. Guy Martin edit

Hello, FamilySing01. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "The People v. Guy Martin".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 10:58, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I am so sorry for my actions three years ago. I have learned my lesson in regards to creating a page for my own business, it was wrong, and it will never happen again. I also apologize for my agressive tone, using all caps rage to achieve my ends. To Jimfbleak, I really, sincerely apologize for yelling at you, and if I am to be freed, I would like keep working on my sandbox to test my skills. Thank you very much.

Decline reason:

You forgot to pick a new username and you forgot to tell us what you'll write about instead. Yamla (talk) 10:25, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The old name was apparently a bit too “corporate”. Is that new name better?

Decline reason:

As noted, you will not be unblocked to continue to edit within the area of your conflict of interest. If you are not prepared to agree to that and tell what you will edit about instead, there is no point in changing your username until you do. I am declining your request. If you continue to make requests that are inappropriate, you may lose access to this page too. 331dot (talk) 14:15, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Once again, I am very sorry for consistently writing about subjects where I have interest conflicts. I will make positive edits on any subject area, and I would like to keep working on my sandbox. I will also change my name to something that is more suitable for the average user. I have waited for years for forgiveness and to Yamla, I say this: From this day, I sincerely promise that I will learn from my mistakes, never again write in subject areas where I have conflicts of interest, never to make edits in regards to my business, and become a better person on this site.

Decline reason:

An apology is of no use or interest. We are not/were not/cannot be offended. You must address the reasons for your block. You have not done so. Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:34, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

You haven't told us what articles you'll edit instead. You also have two open unblock requests. This is inappropriate. Please ensure you have only one unblock request open at a time, and tell us what articles or subject areas you'll edit. --Yamla (talk) 13:20, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
I’ll help as hard as I can to make any positive changes to any article (mostly movies or studios/production companies) that catch my attention. I promise that I will not spam nor vandalise in any way, and I will make sure that my contributions are not disruptive and have a negative effect. --FamilySing01 (talk) 13:29, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
No. We've already told you, you won't be unblocked to write about subject areas for which you have a conflict of interest. If that's your only goal here, please retract your unblock requests and stop wasting our time. --Yamla (talk) 13:54, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Please, I’m being serious. I accept total responsibility for my mistakes, including making a page for promoting my business, which was admittedly a spam, and will never, ever happen again if I am to be liberated. I was too blind to see, and I’ve learned my lesson 3000%. I have also been known for adding stuff to pages without adding a reliable source, and often starting edit wars. Creating problems for others was never my purpose, have no conflicts of interests at all, and I have, for years for waiting for forgiveness. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to help make positive changes to any article, no matter the subject area. --FamilySing01 (talk) 15:17, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
If this is what you truly believe then you lack sufficient competence to edit here. You have a clear conflict of interest and have admitted this conflict, around promoting your business. We've repeatedly asked you what subject areas you wish to edit, noting that these subject areas must be free of conflicts of interest, and all you've said is you plan to write about movies and studios/production companies, even though you have a clear conflict of interest there. You have one more chance. Follow the instructions we've repeatedly given you, stop making silly claims about having no conflict of interest. Or lose access to this talk page. You will not be unblocked to edit subject areas related to your business. --Yamla (talk) 14:34, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
I’m trying my hardest to point my case out, I’ve made my apology, but really struggling how to respond here. I have a question, What are the “subject areas” you’re talking about? PS: I you unblock me (I mean it this time), I promise you NEVER to edit subject areas about my business again. --FamilySing01 (talk) 15:44, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
(Non-administrator comment) Seems like it's time to remove TPA per WP:CIR. - FlightTime (open channel) 14:46, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Done. Talk page access revoked. FamilySing01, if your current unblock request is declined, you can avail yourself of WP:UTRS. Please take the time to read and understand what we've been telling you, over and over and over and over and over again, before you do so. If you make similar requests over at UTRS, you'll lose access there, too. --Yamla (talk) 15:19, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
