But

edit

Please start from the assumption that almost all other editors act in good faith. Your comment about Cambial Yellowing came as close to a personal attack as is tolerated – indeed if you weren't a new user it would not be tolerated and you would get a 24 hour suspension to cool off.

If you are the editor formerly known as user:80.42.39.51, you will know that Wikipedia welcomes a variety of perspectives and you may be surprised, even shocked, by some of them because they are so different to what you usually read. You will [as we all have] think "that can't be true!" and go check the source. Then you will want to know how reliable that source is? who was it who said it? And has the article made that clear? Most of us got involved in Wikipedia to resolve those kinds of questions. Or just to improve articles about our pet subjects.

If you want to explore (or just sound off) about your experiences so far, the Teahouse would be a good place to start because few people there will have any interest in the obscure corners of UK law.

Again, welcome! --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 20:24, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I can assure you I am not user:80.42.39.51 but welcome their contributions today. Apologies to user:80.42.39.51 if their contributions are in any way sullied by my interventions which are motived purely by the behaviour of a particular editor who frankly needs challenging.Factmachine66 (talk) 20:33, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I started from the position that you are a new editor. Your intervention at pages for protection suggests otherwise. The attitude expressed above is not welcome, as I suspect you have previously experienced. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 00:07, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
