Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Bollocks, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Mutt Lunker (talk) 13:14, 6 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

I just spotted that this theory was discussed some years ago on the talk page. Thought you might be interested. Mutt Lunker (talk) 13:26, 6 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Help me! edit

I've just seen a label telling me I have vandalized a page I have never visited and have not edited. Please advise, as this has me very worried.

Hi EvieBoleyn, could I ask you where this label is? Also, would you be able to tell us which page this label talked about? This would greatly help us answer your question. Thanks!  Seagull123  Φ  20:51, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

The page was Mean (the mathematical concept) The apparent vandalism was the insertion of the phrase "How could you be so mean?", a phrase that I simply wouldn't use. I'm trying to retrace my steps to find the label again but I can't find it. I became a little lost in unfamiliar pages looking for help. It was a yellow label with a darker yellow border. I believe the only Wiki page I had open at the time was Robert A. Heinlein.[User:EvieBoleyn|EvieBoleyn]] (talk) 21:13, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

This is confusing me as well. I can't seem to find this edit you made. Is it possible that you made the edit while you were logged out, in which case the edit would be attributed to an IP address? Also, do you know roughly when you made the edit? I'm changing the {{help me-working}} template back to a {{help me}} one to try and get more editors to help.  Seagull123  Φ  21:36, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Well, it's not impossible that I might have accidentally pasted whatever was on my clipboard, but the chances of my clipboard contents being even slightly relevant to the word "mean" by sheer coincidence are so slim that it's almost impossible. It did identify me by IP though, not by username. The label popped up only very recently, because it wasn't there when I first opened the Heinlein page. It must have happened no more than an hour before I sought help. Whatever the cause, I'm as concerned about my standing with Wikipedia as I am about someone using my account. I've only made one contribution so far and I wouldn't want to get kicked out before I've even started.EvieBoleyn (talk) 21:42, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Don't worry about your standing within Wikipedia, you've been really courteous and helpful in our discussion here, which is great! And regardless, we always try to assume good faith - so I will definitely see you as a great editor. Also, this "vandalism" edit is very hard to find (I still haven't found it), so it's unlikely to come back to haunt you. I would just advise you to be aware that Wikipedia generally doesn't look favourably upon people editing under different usernames/IP addresses - see WP:LOGGEDOUT. You haven't done anything wrong though, so don't worry. Is there anything else I can help with?  Seagull123  Φ  22:02, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

No, thank you very much for your help. Be assured I'm not likely to edit with alternate accounts or without logging in and I certainly wouldn't do it intentionally. Thanks again, Seagull :) EvieBoleyn (talk) 22:33, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome EvieBoleyn! And don't worry, I was just letting you know of the alternate account editing thing. And if you need any more help, just leave a message on my talk page. Thanks.  Seagull123  Φ  22:43, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
