Video game articles

As a huge gamer, I greatly appreciate improvements to, and additions of, video game articles on Wikipedia. However, looking at your recent contributions, I feel that I should advise you, someone devoting time and effort to creating game articles, of some of Wikipedia's core policies. First, I'd ask you to check out WP:OR, which prohibits original research. All of your new articles contain "Impressions" sections, and one's own impressions constitute original research. Second, Wikipedia has a neutral-point-of-view policy outlined at WP:NPOV. Saying that a game (taking a random example) controls poorly or has bad graphics is against WP rules unless this info can be verified using reliable sources, such as quoting a reputable gaming magazine, web site, or columnist. Finally, there is a rule outlawing spam at WP:ADS, and even though you are not profiting from your articles, simply adding a press release or the text from the back cover of a game's packaging equates to spam, as it is a POV advertisement for said game.

With all of that said, I hope you continue to contribute to WP. I in no way want to discourage you, but much of what you have added is, by Wikipedia standards stated above, unsalvageable. I hope that you can check out some of the bylaws I've outlined for you and then keep trying to improve the site. A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized).
