September 2019 edit

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 08:12, 10 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

could you indicate what content posted was promotional? I understand the username, and have asked to change it above, but all the information added was documented, and non promotional. If you could shed some light that would be helpful and I would be glad to make the change in accordance with the policies.

Decline reason:

You have not addressed your violation of WP:COI, nor have you told us what you'd edit instead. Yamla (talk) 12:14, 10 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please read the conflict of interest policy and the paid editing policy as you seem to represent your event or organization. You won't be unblocked to continue to edit about things related to your conflict of interest; if you want to edit about other subjects as a general Wikipedia contributor, please say what those might be. Someone else will review your request. 331dot (talk) 12:16, 10 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

what I want to edit is the Funds section. there are 2 topics there that are confusing. One is that OurCrowd has raised funds for itself to fund its own business activities. The other topic is the amount of money OurCrowd raises for its portfolio companies. The information about raising funds for the company itself can be seen here: 2013 FEB series A funding $5.5M https://techtime.news/2013/02/06/israels-ourcrowd-completed-12-million-funding/ https://www.pehub.com/2013/02/ourcrowd-raises-5-5; additionally I would like to add public news for pages of our portfolio companies or Israel high tech / venture capital in general

Decline reason:

You were told explicitly, multiple times, that you will not be unblocked to write about your company. As you refuse to understand this, I have withdrawn your ability to make further appeals. MER-C 10:57, 15 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

No. We've told you three times you won't be unblocked to continue violating WP:COI. --Yamla (talk) 14:45, 10 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Some proposed changes edit

{{request edit}} Information to be added or removed: I propose the section labeled "Funds" be divided into 2 parts: 1) OurCrowd Funding & 2) OurCrowd Fund Raising for Portfolio Companies.

OurCrowd Funding:

  • Bulleted list item In February 2013, OurCrowd raised series A funding of $5.5M

https://techtime.news/2013/02/06/israels-ourcrowd-completed-12-million-funding/ https://www.pehub.com/2013/02/ourcrowd-raises-5-5m-series-a/ https://thenextweb.com/insider/2013/02/06/ourcrowd-helps-keeps-the-startup-nation-funded/ https://www.zdnet.com/article/israel-jumps-on-the-crowdfunding-platform-wagon/

  • Bulleted list item In April 2014, OurCrowd raised series B funding of $25M

  • Bulleted list item In september 2016, OurCrowd raised series C funding of $72M

https://www.israel21c.org/crowdfunding-platform-ourcrowd-raises-72-million/ https://www.timesofisrael.com/ourcrowd-raises-72-million-in-series-c-funding-round/ https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-israeli-crowdfunding-platform-ourcrowd-raises-72m-1001153571 https://www.geektime.com/2016/09/21/israels-ourcrowd-scores-massive-72-million-series-c-for-its-crowdfunding-equity-fund/

OurCrowd Fund Raising for Portfolio Companies:

By November 2013, OurCrowd had raised over $25 million for its 30 portfolio companies[20] As of September 2016, OurCrowd has raised over $100 million and has 100 companies in its portfolio, with more than $300 million invested.[21] In March 2016, OurCrowd raised $10 million from Singapore's United Overseas Bank, with the stated goal of expanding into Asian markets.[22] In February 2018, the company announced a $50 million venture fund for sports technology investments, ADvantage, together with leAD Sports, the global sports technology accelerator backed by the Adi Dassler Family Office (referring to Adi Dassler, the creator of Adidas, the German multinational sportswear manufacturer).[24] By May 2018, it was reported that OurCrowd had reached over $1 billion AUD in funds under management ($750 million USD).[25] In March 2019, OurCrowd hit $1.1 billion raised since inception.[26]

Explanation of issue: The issue is that there is confusion about funds raised by the company, "OurCrowd", for its own operation - vs - funds raised for portfolio companies. I propose the section labeled "Funds" be divided into 2 parts: 1) OurCrowd Funding & 2) OurCrowd Fund Raising for Portfolio Companies. References supporting change: see 4 reference for each statement.

  • The Request Edit tag is only for use on article talk pages. While blocked, you can only use this page to request to be unblocked- and you have already been told that you won't be unblocked to edit about OurCrowd. As the block notice states, "If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock." If you want to contribute about nothing other than OurCrowd, there is no pathway to being unblocked for you. I have, however, removed the funding section, as it was cited to only routine announcements or press release type articles, which do not establish notability per WP:ORG. 331dot (talk) 09:18, 11 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
