Unspecified source for Image:Michele_Fini.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Michele_Fini.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 12:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Flags in infoboxes edit

Please stop adding flags to infoboxes as you did to Davide Marchini and Clarence Seedorf. This runs contrary to WP:FLAGS and discussions in WP:FOOTY as shown here:

If you have any disagreement, feel free to discuss it in the football project talk page. -- Alexf42 22:09, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Clarence Seedorf, you will be blocked from editing. -- Alexf42 22:09, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Andorra Aug 07 002.JPG edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Andorra Aug 07 002.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. Ignazio Carta edit

You probably noticed the red link. I believe you created this article. Another editor proposed it for deletion, and since no one objected within 7 days, I deleted it. I noticed that it doesn't appear that anyone notified you, however, so I wanted to let you know. Take care, Xymmax So let it be written So let it be done 13:48, 10 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:DungarvanCOF.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:DungarvanCOF.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.

Please note, the image has been updated to PNG version to allow a transparent background. Sswonk (talk) 18:45, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

You eejit. (Addressing 888!). Where did you get that from? Sarah777 (talk) 18:48, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Shy Mr. E got it from the council, see [1]. Is Eoghan888 your cousin? And do you "conveniently neglect" to send the 666's invitations to the reunion? :) Sswonk (talk) 19:35, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Not shy...just like to keep my head down. I'm sure you understand. TheEditor888 23:36, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
I try, Eoghan. To be absolutely clear, you did nothing wrong, though the garish recommended template might make it look that way. I only needed to remove your original version of the coat of arms to change it to a version with a transparent background, because it was uploaded as fair use. That is what my note in italics above was saying. Hope all is well there. Sswonk (talk) 13:47, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have just been asked to test whether I can still edit. I do what I'm told. TheEditor888 23:38, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Unbreakable (Michael Jackson song) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Unbreakable (Michael Jackson song), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
