Firstly, my own welcome to Wikipedia, and great to have a new passionate editor aboard. I am writing also because of your post at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/David Whitburn. I do see where you are coming from with what I am about to quote, but comments like "I am appalled at the site page creator", "I am somewhat disappointed that the editors above did not do this basic research" and "Suggesting or voting to take down sites rather than doing the simplest research" are not best. This is because you may well anger other editors who !voted delete, for accusing them of not doing basic research, which will likely lead to a lack of a co-operative enterprise that makes Wikipedia what it is. In the spirit of WP:Assume good faith you shouldn't accuse people of not doing basic research; all you need do is present your argument for why the article should remain. I myself did research Mr Whitburn, and I hand-on-heart swear I did not come up with what you found (maybe because I used a UK version of Google that left out NZ publications), and thank you for coming up with what you did. Truly excellent work. I would like to refer to "letting New Zealanders police their own people"; Wikipedia is a global encyclopedia, and to split up editors and articles by nationality would go against that and our guiding principle of inclusiveness. Also, would you agree that just because someone is a New Zealander, that doesn't make them an expert on New Zealand, and on the flip side just because someone is French doesn't mean they aren't an expert on New Zealand? Anyway, I don't want to overdo this issue, but may I suggest you strike out (using <s>HTML strikeout tags</s>) the comments I quoted at the top; some editors who !voted delete may react very vocally, as you may if you had researched and were accused of not doing so. Plus, many a neutral outsider has been turned off a valid argument for keeping a page, like yours, because the person arguing has made what can be construed as negative comments. I hope I haven't appeared as picky; from your obvious passion I think you can make a great Wikipedia editor, and the Wikipedia community would welcome more coverage on New Zealand.
